I remembered the first time I woke up with Rachel as my girlfriend. It was like a new life, a new beginning. It was something new especially since she was my first girlfriend. But just like any other relationship, it was not always rainbows and butterflies. We had our struggles along the way but always found a way back to each other. We agreed that as much as possible, we wouldn't let our arguments and fights last until the next day. Surprisingly, it didn't.

A year passed and it was safe to say that it was a good year. Of course, things changed for everyone. Bas never really pushed through with Adrianna as he was never really happy settling with 1 woman in his life. Adrianne of course found someone else. Even so, Bas enjoyed being single and met a bunch of new people. At least he was happy. The weather was the same with Betty and Paolo. Betty started going out with Chad again, just like how and me Rachel started. Jay and Audris finally got together, 2 months after I asked Rachel to be my girlfriend. Indeed, everyone had their own share of change and happiness.

I was all set as well. Beautiful girlfriend, bright career ahead, and time to take it one step at a time. I was given the chance for a trip to Lebroux Island where all the flight trainings were held. It was an isolated island owned by my school, an hour away from the city by plane. I had to stay there for 3 days and complete 15 hours of flying. I was leaving the next day.

I got in my car to fetch Rachel from school, and planned to have an early dinner with her. We went to Ash Valley, a mini mall near her school. I was sad that I wasn't going to see Rachel for 3 days, but it was the signal problem that made Rachel sulky. Apparently, there was no telecommunication signal in Lebroux Island. I parked my car and headed up to Ash Valley. Rachel was waiting inside the restaurant with her adorable sulky face. I leaned over to kiss her forehead. "Hey there gorgeous." I said.

"Please don't leave me! Can't you just fly somewhere nearby? What's wrong with the air here in the city, I find it just fine." She said.

I bursted out laughing. "I agree, I actually find our air nicer. It has this certain aroma you know?"

"Shut up, Damon I hate you. Don't leave me!"

"I wish I could fly here, but that's where all the flying has been held for the longest time I know."

"And no signal? What kind of place has no signal..." Tossing aside the poor ketchup bottle.

"Someone's going to miss me!"

She leaned over and hugged me. Well, more of squeezed me.

We talked about her school stuff and gossips. She also told me what she was going to do while I was gone for the weekend. It mainly involved girl stuff with Audris. Facials, salon dates, and maybe go for a chill drink session with the girls. I guess time for ourselves was a good thing. Of course, I didn't want to leave. But then again, I was actually really excited, especially since I was the first student to fly from my class. That was a very big achievement.

It was Thursday, and I was ready for Lebroux Island. My Dad walked into my room and gave me his headset. "Son, this was the last headset I used and I want it to be your first. I am not giving it to you, I am lending it. So you better return it yourself. Stay sharp up there, yes?"

I got in my car and drove to the airport. I was excited, but was also worried since I was the first student in my class to fly. Meaning, I didn't know anyone. It was still dark outside and the sound of silence made it beautiful. The morning Sun hasn't peeked out yet, allowing the lights of the sidewalk to contribute to the beautiful scenery of such a fast-paced city.

I arrived in our school's hangar and walked towards the meeting point. It was not a busy place at all, there were not much people actually. I saw the aircraft we were going to use and saw 3 other senior students waiting. One of them walked towards me.
