Chapter 9/ Grace's POV
"Wake up baby." My mom said. It was so weird to call Taylor mom but if gotten used to it.
"Ugh." I said, turning away from the light. I was usually a morning person... But this didn't surprise me, I hated school.
"Come on, get up." She said, going to pick me out an outfit so I could lay in bed longer.
She threw me some blue jeans, black KEDS, and a red jean jacket with a black tank top.
"Thanks." I said, getting up.
"No problem. I'm making pancakes, come down when you're ready." She smiled.
I got dressed and did my hair in a high bun, then ran downstairs. It was only 7:20 and my school started at 8:15.
"Thank you mom." I said as she handed me a plate and some juice.
"Adam will come and pick you up after school, I can't because of a meet and greet we set up to make the fans less bummed about the tour." She said.
I nodded and quickly ate my breakfast. Then I grabbed my backpack and mom drove me to school.
"Ready girly?" She asked, unlocking the car doors.
"No. But I'll do my best." I said hugging her and then getting out of the backseat. Yes, I still sat in the back. Don't judge me. I'm not exactly tall enough to sit in the front yet.
I took a deep breath and walked inside. When you walked in you could already spot the different group of people. Some wore preppy clothes and you could hear 'em talking smack from across the hall. Others wore dark clothes and dark lipstick. Some carried books around and were being picked on by some jocks. Not stereotyping here, but at this school you'd know who's know.
And then, there was me. The new girl in the middle of the hallway, looking lost and confused. A girl with olive skin and brown hair was the first to notice me.
"Hey! I'm Cassie." She said, smiling at me. "That's Izzy and Sara." She pointed to two girls behind her. Izzy had short red hair that went to her chin. She wore cute glasses that matched her green eyes. The other, Sara, had darker skin and dark brown mid-length hair. She looked like a mini model.
"Hi. I'm Grace." I said to them. The two girls in the back waved and stepped up to join us.
"Hold the phone. You're Taylor Swift's daughter, right? I'm a fan." Sara said.
"Yeah... Grace Swift-Wiles." I said.
"Cool!" Izzy said. "Well Grace, what's your first class? We were just comparing schedules."
"I have maths first." I said, sighing.
"Same!" Cassie said, grabbing my hand. "Let's go before the bell rings so we can let you have a good impression on your first day."
Later that day, everything seemed to be going perfect. I had managed to keep myself unknown except to my new friends, and I aced my maths worksheet. It was at lunch where my downfall began.
Being myself, I didn't eat my salad mom had packed me, so I watched my friends enjoy their pizzas and yogurt.
"Cassie, gimme your phone." Izzy said.
"What why?" Cassie said, sitting down next to me in the lunch room.
"Because I wanna spam you with selfies." Izzy said, shrugging and reaching for Cassie's bag. Me and Sara began to laugh and I shook my head at the girls who were now bickering.
