Chapter 22 oooooo/Grace:
"Hey mom?" I called, walking into the kitchen.
"Sup Grace. Aren't you supposed to be watching Snow White with dad and Buddy?"
"I was... But I've seen that movie a lot." I said.
"Yeah, it's a classic. Wanna help me bake cookies?" She asked, taking out a bowl.
"Sure! Only if they're chocolate chip. Anything else and I will not eat it." I said, washing my hands.
"Okay sooo..." I started. "Well, so me and Cassie wanted to know if we could go to Selena's new concert... It's this weekend..."
"G, you know that you have to watch your brother this weekend." Mom frowned.
"Yeah... Maybe Lily or Gigi could? I'm sure Cara and Abigail wouldn't mind either." I said.
"Well, you guys are only kids. And there can be some creepy people there. You're kind of a celebrities daughter now, Grace."
"We're responsible mom." I said.
"Well..."
"Selena is your best friend. She can probably drive us back after the meet and greet. Just please?" I begged.
"Fine."
At the concert, me, Cassie, Izzy, and Sara took our front row seats. Yeah, nice.
I decided to check social media. Which for me is only Instagram.
Me and mom posted a selfie when I was done getting ready for the concert, cause I looked, and I quote "really grown up, and so beautiful, and first time wearing make up like this, and so gorgeous in that top."
Yep, because that's totally not the 500th fake phone number I 'totally have'.
I put away my phone and listened to the concert.
Bea Miller slayed FYI.
AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON DNCE. AGH IT WAS SO AWESOME. THE LIGHTS WENT BOOM AND SPELLED OUT DNCE BEHIND THEM. AND THEN THEIR PERFORMANCE THROWBACKS WERE GOALS.
"Grace, we need a selfie." Izzy said, snapping me out of my fangirl moments.
"Yeah Selena Gomez is coming on any minute. Then we'll have really bad lighting."
"Fine." I said, taking a quick picture. Right after the lights went out and Selena began.
ONE WORD. AMAZING. SELENA WAS AMAZING. HER NEW SONG THOUGH IS BAAKWWWOWOWKOWWK.
THATS ALL I CAN PROCESS RIGHT NOW.
"Selena! That was amazing!" I said, hugging her.
"Thank you!" She said.
"Hi." Sara said.
"Those are my friends, Cassie, Izzy, and Sara." I explained.
"I... Fan..." Cassie said, starstruck.
"Hello!" Izzy smiled.
"Hey Selena Gomez! I'm a fan!" Sara said acting cool. Me and Sara were okay...ish.
We didn't talk much anymore because she thinks it was rude of me to leave and she claims I am stealing Cassie. I heard that from Iz so it's obviously true.
"Sara, Izzy, Cassie... Nice to meet you! Let's get going, I'm tired." Sel said, yawning.
She drove us, putting Demi Lovato, my third favorite singer, on shuffle.
''CAUSE NOW IM A WARRIOR! NOW IVE GOT THICKER SKIN. IM A WARRIOIR!!!!" We all screamed.
When we dropped everyone off, I convinced Selena yo let me walk the ,sat block since I knew my way and she should be heading back to her band. She reluctantly agree and dropped me off.
I walked down the streets, passing by gang members and drug dealers. It made me think of my old life before Mom and Dad. Before Buddy. Before my friends and all my help. Back then I didn't even take care of myself properly, somebody could run me over or shoot me in the head and I wouldn't object. Now, no matter how many problems I still have, like not eating and running from my fears, I was strong enough to real sis I needed serious help. Unlike before, when I had no friends, no family, no life to live.
Flashback
"Grace, wait up!" Rory yelled.
"Rory, for the last time, I don't need your stupid help." I muttered.
"G, you're 11 years old. Almost 12. And you could care less about your life right now. Cut it out G! People will love you someday, and until then..."
"Until when Rory?"
"Until whenever somebody realizes you're not broken completely, I'll be your friend."
"Then Rory, you'll be waiting a long time if you believe that. You're not my friend. I have no friends and I like it that way. Plus, you're 12, what do you know."
"A year more of things than you do." He joked.
"SERIOUSLY RORY! Shut up. I don't want a stupid friend and I for sure don't need you. Rory, you say I'm needed somewhere right?" I yelled. He nodded vigorously. "Well then so are you and I'll tell you one thing it's not here. Get out of my life Rory. Friends aren't my thing."
"G..."
"Go!" I yelled again.
"Fine, Grace. You don't need me. Nobody does then, I guess if you don't. I guess that means we're not all needed. Maybe you will be, maybe you won't G. But I don't care anymore, you're not my responsibility you freak." He spat, turning away. He wasn't being rude, that's the nicest insult people have called me. And he knows that.
He also knows he's right. Maybe I won't be needed anywhere. Ever. People have tried to kill me twice, I've ran away ever night since then. Rory is correct. If I was needed, so many people wouldn't tell me I wasn't and get rid of me, or at least try to. I'm not needed.
Flashback over
I was wrong though. People do love me. Rory was wrong.
Rory...
Rory, well...On his way back he was hit by a car. Stupid drunk drivers. I can't believe I let that happen. I could've had a friend and I rejected it. I rejected him.
I sighed, walking inside.
"Hey mom and dad, I'm home."
Aww poor lil 'ol Rory. I felt like I needed a bit less dramatic chapter, even though it's dramatic, it's in the past.
And trust me guys, in a chapter to come soon, you're gonna need as much of a break from drama as you can get.
