Chapter 10/Taylor's POV
We drove home in complete silence, but as soon as we walked inside the house, Adam came running over frantically.
"What's wrong?" He asked, looking at Grace warily and then eyeing me.
"Adam, we're going to discuss it in the living room." I said.
He nodded and Grace followed behind me as I led them to the couch. She sat in the chair across from us and Adam waited for her to talk.
"First of all, the most idiotic, selfish, vain, unkind, ruthless..."
"Grace hun, we get it." I said.
"Okay, fine. So anyways Adam, she insulted her," Grace said, gesturing towards me. "and you guys know I have a bit of a temper so I shot back, and she punched me, and that happened and stuff. So yeah."
"Oh." Is all Adam replied, looking ashamed at himself for thinking it was Grace's fault.
"So... Grace, what else is it that you wanted to tell us?" I asked, crossing my legs.
"I... Nevermind." She said, looking down.
"Grace, tell us." I said, looking over at her.
"No. I don't want to." She said, crossing her arms.
"Grace." I said sternly.
"What?! I DON'T WANT TO TELL YOU. IS THAT OKAY?" She yelled, standing up.
"NO, IT'S NOT OKAY. GRACE YOU ARE GOING TO TELL US OR ELSE..."
"Or else what..." Grace whisper, tears in her eyes. "You're gonna send me back?"
"Grace, I'm..."
"Save it, nevermind." She said, running upstairs.
"Grace, get down here right now!" I yelled a little more gently.
"Taylor, stop!" She screamed, looking me in the eyes. "You're just gonna send me back anyways, just like the last people I ever trusted enough to tell, so I might as well pack." Then she slammed her bedroom door.
"Adam, you go talk to her. Whatever it is, she's obviously not had the best experience with it." I sighed.
"Okay, I'll be back." He said, kissing my forehead before jogging up the steps.
Adam's POV
I'm not quite sure how to handle a 12 year old girl, but I will try for Taylor. So I knocked on the door, and waited to Grace to let me in, but she didn't.
"Oh yeah... Grace, it's Adam." I said. With that, the door handle turned and I walked inside.
"Adam, I'm sorry." She said.
"Don't say sorry to me, say sorry to Taylor." I replied.
"Adam! You don't understand!" She exclaimed, covering her face.
"I don't, you're right. But if you'd tell Tay and I, we can help."
"You can't help. But I can try to tell you." She said, walking down the stairs to Taylor.
"Taylor... Mom. I'm sorry." She said.
"It's okay." Taylor said, hugging her. I walked over to the chair Grace sat in so she could sit by Taylor.
"But promise you won't send me back?" Grace asked, playing with her jean jacket.
"We'd never." Tay said.
"Okay, sit tight." Grace said, taking a deep breathe...
It's a hanger, it's a cliff, it's a cliff hanger! Okay. That was weird. Anyways... How's your day been going? Idk what day it is... I write dis on a Sunday and have no clue when I'm gonna publish it because haha! I write ahead, yo!
