*Grace's POV*

Finally! Today was the concert and I was more than happy to wake up to sunshine. I had to walk, like, two miles to get to the stadium.

I did my hair on a bun, which took forever because I had to straighten my hair.

I also put on a blue dress, which looked good with my dirty blonde hair and very pale skin tone. I didn't wear any make up, I may have been self conscious or hated what I looked like, but I didn't need make up to make me feel better about myself, like, maybe I don't have natural beauty, but I thought putting on layers of make up was a too much for a 12(almost 13!) year old to do.

"Miss Bethany?" I asked, rushing downstairs.

"Yeah Grace?" She looked beautiful. She had dark brown eyes and very dark brown hair, almost black. It was short and curly and she could pull of sweatpants and a Luke Bryan T-Shirt.

"Can I start going? I promise, I'll eat a little before I leave. I can just... Take it with me. It'll take almost an hour." I said.

"Fine, but be careful Grace, I don't want you getting hurt...' She said, biting her lip.

"Thanks! I'll be fine, and tell Nolan to have fun at his new home." I said.

She handed me a sandwich and a cookie, which once I got outside, I threw away and started to run. Unlike pretty much every girl at the orphanage, I could run long distance super fast.

I got there thirty minutes early. And on the way, I spotted a robbery in progress, and some celebrities, who I didn't go up and ask for a photo with. I find asking for a photo a personal space invasion. Like, if they want to take a photo with you, great, but I, sure taking pictures with kids isn't their favorite thing to do.

"Please go away." A girl said. She looked my age and had long red hair and glasses. She was wearing a 1989 T-shirt, and three girls who looked 15 were all surrounding her like predators mocking their prey.

"Oh please, that sign is like for five year olds." One of the girls said.

"Nice Rosemary! Sweetheart, I think Taylor wouldn't pick you no matter how many lights you have on a that sign." Another girl said, ripping her sign in half.

"Stop!" The younger girl said, pushing the three girls.

"You don't wanna...."

"Leave her alone." I said, stepping over by them.

"You're like 9 sweetie." The girl, Rosemary said.

"Yeah, and you're like 5." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Excuse me?" The Rosemary said, stepping closer to me.

"Personal space, blondie." I said, stepping back.

"So what? You guys are like kids. Liking Taylor Swift, oh please, Beyoncé is so much better."

"Yeah, okay then Kanye. Can you go now?" I asked, walking over by the other girl my age.

"We would, but you guys make us laugh." One of the other cake faces said.

"Yeah, and I'm sure your childishness could make grumpy cat laugh. Bye bye." I said, waving to them. They rolled their eyes and walked away. "So, I'm Grace."

"Hey, I'm Eva." She said, shaking my hand. "Thanks, Grace. What section are you in?"

"Row 3, seat 6." I said, smiling.

"Row 4, seat 7." She said, grabbing my hand. "Yay! Let's go, the concert will start in like 10 minutes."

We went and departed to take our seats. Luckily she was right behind me so we talked for almost the whole time. She was actually adopted four years ago by Shelly and Christofer Anderson, who one our local grocery store. She also goes to my school, we just never noticed each other before. We stopped talking as soon as the lights went black and the opening band had stopped playing.

Screaming filled the room and I joined in, plugging my ears.

She started talking as the lights suddenly flickered on. Our bracelets we had received began to glow.

Then she began to sing and oh my goodness, she seriously sounded like an angel while performing Welcome To New York. I danced and sang loudly. Then, my favorite on the album, This Love began to play and I started to freak out, me and Eva had started to hardcore fangirl.

When you're young, you just run, but you come back to what you need.

After that, I just listened to her beautiful voice until I heard screaming behind me. Eva was picked for Loft 89. I was so happy for her and told her to tell Taylor I say hi.

After the concert was over, I ran home. That night was magical, but would soon be replaced by my miserable life at the orphanage.

Halfway back, I stopped.

When you're young, you just run, but you come back to what you need.

Run. That's what I wanted to do. I would be leaving for the teenage orphanage in a couple months, where its misery. I couldn't go there. I had to run.

I didn't have anything at the orphanage. So I didn't really have to go back and pack, I just ran.

I ran so fast, I couldn't think straight. Where was I going? Why was I going again? Eventually, I was so tired and probably not eating for three weeks had caught up to me, and I passed out there on the side of the road.

Thoughts? And yes, I know this is my second adoption book. Judge me all you want, these are fun!
