CHAPTER 14

Isaac's POV :

My mind was consumed by emotions. But the most overpowering ones were of joy and bewilderment.

I was totally overjoyed with the fact that she liked me back.

She actually liked me! I can't believe it.

The moment was nothing short of magical. I hadn't experienced such passion before and that kiss changed my frame of mind completely.

I started cheerfully frolicking home when my bubble of happiness was unnecessarily broken by someone who was more than an acquaintance but less than a friend.

"What are you smiling about?!" Stiles  asked, obviously concerned about my source of joy.

He was in his driveway, trying to fix his jeep with nothing but duck tape at his disposal.

"Need a hand?!" I asked, surprised that I wanted to help Stiles.

Oh she's got me in such a good mood.

My mind flashed scenes from before. Her scent was so strong, it was almost as if it were mine. Her hair falling on my face. Our breathing in a single pattern.

I flashed a cheeky smile and shook my head.

"Ok, seriously? Are you high? You're smiling all over the place!" Stiles squinted at me with great confusion.

"Nothing. I'll see you tomorrow." I said chirpily.

I rushed home not wanting to ruin the rest of the night.

On my way, I heard a loud cry. It wasn't of any ordinary human nor of any ordinary werewolf. It was of an alpha. It probably was Derek sending me a warning signal.

Shit. I was late.

My extra heightened senses made it really hard to focus on the path home. My ears were deafened by the uninterrupted chanting of crickets.

A swarm of fireflies took my direction which instantly blinded me.

I waved my claws in the air to shoo them away.

Another massive swarm, this time, of bees were heading my way and I had to move fast.

Swiftly maneuvering the hurdles, I found my way to the old warehouse I called home.

It is way better than the streets. I thought to myself and sighed.

I didn't want anything to ruin my mood tonight.

But the scene with all the insects back in the woods had me on edge. They shouldn't be affected by the moon like that.

I opened the door to welcome myself to a very angry Derek.

"You were gone for a while, weren't you?" He said in a sly voice, his red eyes glowing in the dark.

It was about to get ugly because I knew Derek too well.

"I'm sorry, Derek. But ... But it was a long walk ..." I had to reason with him. Before he got too close.

He hated it, when we were late. Especially when it was training night.

"SHUTUP!" His voice magnified with rage!

I couldn't help but step back and my hands started shivering.

"I know where she lives and I know how long it takes to get there!" He barked and then paused, trying to compose himself and continued.

"You see what the problem is Isaac, the problem is, that I'm too nice. Too lenient."
