Chapter 5: Ready, Freddie?
"Ouch!" I winced as Alex tugged on my blonde hair "Sorry!" Alex apologised and looked at me through the mirror. We had arrived at our flat at five in the evening and the concert was at seven so we had no time to loose.
A few moments of Alex fiddling with my hair, she finally smiled, seeming happy with what she had done. "Oh I am good." Alex was proud of herself. "I wanna see." I whined "Here, let me take a picture." Alex snapped a photo of the back of my head and showed it to me.
"No fucking way. How did you do that?" I said in wonder, feeling my hair. Alex had curled my hair into small ringlets that spilled on my shoulders, in a half up-half down fashion. Only, she tied my hair into a giant ribbon. My hair was a fucking ribbon! Alex was right in choosing Fashion and Apparel as her college course.
"You like it?" Alex asked, with a small glimmer of hope lurking in her emerald green eyes. "I love it, Al!" I exclaimed and hugged her tight. "Let's start with your makeup." Alex smiled when I let her go and I nodded fervently. She picked up a piece of cotton and a bottle that was labeled 'Makeup Remover'. Alex removed my makeup steadily, making sure not to miss anything.
After she removed my makeup, she plunged her hand into my purple makeup pouch and brought out some foundation. She wet the pad and applied it to my face in a general amount. "Pout for me." I did as I was told as Alex applied a layer of carmine lipstick to my lips. She motioned for me to rub my lips together for the lipstick to spread and I did what I was told. Alex made me close my eyes and soon after, I felt the light touch of the eyeshadow applicator moving delicately on the outer layer of my eyes. Soon enough Alex made me open my eyes again but I wasn't allowed to look in the mirror yet. Since this is a concert (a One Direction concert), and we would surely be crying, Alex used water proof eyeliner on me and then she used some mascara to accentuate my eyelashes. After that, she thickened my eyebrows a little using a pencil and applied some blush to my cheeks.
After a few more moments of doing so, Alex told me I was allowed to look at myself in the mirror. When I did, I got the shock of my life.
Remember when I imagined myself in that dressing cabin looking stunning? Well I looked so much better than I'd ever imagine. My eyelashes were longer, and this made my blue eyes more vivid and y'know. . .blue. My cheek bones were complemented by a light shade of pink and my eyeshadow looked dark and smoky so people would direct their attention to my eyes instead. I was convinced Alex was a wizard to turn something as ugly as me to something as beautiful as a Victoria's Secret model. Maybe even more.
Nah just kidding, nobody can beat models like them.
"I look. . .oh my God Al, I look amazing!" I was close to crying. It was only now that I felt beautiful and actually admit it. "No don't cry! You'll your ruin your makeup!" Alex shrieked, hugging me tightly. I chuckled "I won't."
"Your turn!" I exclaimed, if Alex could make me this beautiful, I'm going to make her look ten times better.
_____
"I do not believe this." Alex mumbled in disbelief, touching her cheek with her right hand. I told you I'd make her ten times prettier. With water proof eyeliner too, of course.
"Well believe it, my friend." I smiled, clamping her back. I walked out of Alex's bedroom and into my own so I could change into my dress. I put my iPod on the speakers and it started blasting out 'Teenage Dirtbag'.
"Her name is Noel
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
Got gym class in half an hour
Oh how she rocks
With the Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a
Damn about me."
I sang along to Harry's solo as I tugged the dress gently over my head. I sang along to the chorus as well as I shoved my iPhone into my black studded purse.
"Her boyfriend's a dick
He brings a gun to school
And he'd simple kick
My ass if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And he drives an iRock
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a
Damn about me."
I sang along to Niall's solo this time as I wore my black Keds. "Ready, Freddie?" Alex asked from the door. She was wearing the dress, a black shoulder bag, and her black Vans.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied, standing up and plugging out my iPod before heading out with Alex. Alex handed me my car keys that had a four leaf clover keychain and a capital letter 'A' encrusted with fake diamonds.
"Leggo." I smiled as we both entered the car.
