Alex's POV

"I'll be up there in a minute. I just need some fresh air." I say softly so Anthea will buy it. We had arrived at Pia's house at about seven in the evening and guests are about to come.

"You sure?" Anthea seems really hesitant (for whatever reason) and so I nod, smiling. "Yeah. You know how I'm claustraphobic." I say, it's true though. I am a bit claustraphobic and I freak out sometimes but when I have someone to pat my back or hold my hand (as cowardly as that sounds), I'll be fine.

Anthea nods, understanding how I don't want to be in such a cramped place just yet so she goes inside with Pia. As soon as their figures are out of sight, I pull out my phone and click on her contact.

After about two rings, she answered.

"Hello?"

"Hey Karla."

Anthea's POV

I entered the flat with Pia and find the inside empty.

"Where are the lads?" Pia asked as I eyed the spider webs hanging from the stairs. The place was utterly scary with so many decorations that made my eyes pop out of sheer terror. They did a great job but it scares the crap out of me.

"We're right here!" Louis comes into the room, smiling brightly. "You guys did a great job!" Pia said as the other boys came in the room. Louis smiled proudly "Thanks."

The door swung open as if on cue and Alex comes barging in. Her dark red lips form a devilish grin as she fixed her mask. "Cat Woman, huh?" Harry chuckled, checking out Alex's mask. "Yup." Alex giggled.

The lads said their goodbyes, claiming that they needed to change in their Halloween costumes. Since we also needed some girl time, we agreed. As soon as we changed into our costumes, we trudge down the stairs in a bee line and went in the kitchen.

"Halloween selfie!" Alex exclaimed, holding up her phone and taking the picture landscape so the three of us could be seen. Alex smiled, satisfied with the picture as Pia poured in some crisps inside a glass bowl.

I hopped up the kitchen counter and snatched a few crisps from the bag and ate them. Just then, my phone pinged. I picked it up from where it was laying beside me on the kitchen counter and unlocked it.

I chuckled at the last remark and set my phone down. Just then we heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it!" I say cheerily, opening the door to reveal Niall, Liam, Harry, Zayn, and Louis wearing their costumes.

Zayn was wearing a Captain Jack Sparrow costume, Harry was wearing an Ironman costume, Niall was wearing a Leprechaun costume and he didn't really look so pleased with it, Liam was wearing a Batman costume and Louis sported a Superman costume.

"Nice." Alex smiled, eyeing each boy as they entered the house. "Although I think leprechauns are supposed to smile?" Alex chuckled "Yeah well." Niall answered with a straight face.

"How many people are even at this party?!" I shrieked as we passed by all the people. "I didn't even know Pia's house could fit this much people!" Alex exclaimed as we finally stepped foot on a deserted hallway.

"Is that a piñata or something?" Alex asked, pointing to a strange figure hanging from the ceiling, oddly enough, it looked like a girl. Then, my heart picked up speed.

"No." A voice cackled. Alex and I let out ear-piercing screams as we looked at each other in terror.

"Who-Who are you?" Alex asked, her eyes wide with terror. "Don't be afraid, I won't bite. Come closer." Alex took a small step forward but I grabbed her elbow "Don't!" I exlaimed "It's fine, Anthea." Alex shushed me and shook my hand off. Then she walked up to the girl.

"AHHHH!" Alex screeched as the monster chuckled.

"ALEX!" I shouted. No reply.

"Your friend is safe, darling. You wanna join her?" The monster asked, I heard a few things before the faint sound of heels clunking on the floor came. The clunks gradually got louder and within every step, I got more scared.

It wasn't long before a girl, with raging beauty, appeared. I slowly backed away but the wall behind me had other plans. The monster's hair was black in a ponytail, a trail of blood ran down her mouth, her nails were so long and sharp, her eyes were red, and when she opened her mouth, pointy fangs would show.

"Please don't kill me! I don't taste good! I taste like rotten cheese. Oh God!" I begged as she got closer, then Alex appeared, a light scratch on her right cheek. Blood trickled down her arms.

"Alex!" I exclaimed, I was about to run to her when. . ."Wait just a second!" The monster laughed, grabbing Alex's forearm as she flinched in pain.

"Don't hurt her!" I screeched, helplessly looking at her. My heart beated a million times per second. "Mhmm." The monster laughed, scratching Alex's left cheek as she winced, another trail of blood trickled down her cheek.

"No!" I shouted, I didn't care anymore. Alex tumbled to the ground as I ran towards her. Alex was all bloody and red. Her mask was removed and she looked terrified.

"Oh my God." I was close to tears.

"I. . .you. . .I have to say something. Before I g-go!" Alex coughed up some blood as I tried to keep my tears at bay.

"What is it?" I asked, holding her hand.

"You. . .you've been pranked!"

"WHAT?!" I say out of disbelief as the lights turned on and Alex rolled on the floor laughing, literally.

"You should've seen your face!" Alex said in between laughs.

"I can't believe you!" I start to laugh because, even though the joke was on me, it was quite funny.

"Oh thank goodness you aren't mad!" Niall came from one corner of the room and hugged me tight. Butterflies erupted in my stomach. These aren't even butterflies. They're like these grenades that go off everytime Niall touches me. It's so weird.

"I am a bit pissed but you gotta admit, it was pretty funny." I say as we all step out of Pia's hallway and back into the living room.

"Well, let's just enjoy the party." Niall smiled and led me to the snack table. We both picked up a bottle of beer and I didn't remember much after that. Except that Pia throws awesome parties.
