A few more days passed in which Josh and I spent driving around, looking to find me a job.
I auditioned at multiple dance studios, all of which thought it would be super cool to have a celebrity choreographer working at their studio.
Today, me and Josh sad in his car, wondering where to go to next.
But then I started thinking bout what Emerald had told me a few months back.
"You should try out for Phenomenon! The season finale is scheduled for tonight and try-outs are in three months! You won't be working under Maxwell, you'll be working under me!"
"Hey, Josh?"
"Yes, gorgeous?"
"Have you ever thought of trying out for Phenomenon again?"
"What? No! Why would I?"
"I don't know. I mean, If you did, you wouldn't be working under Maxwell. You'd be working under Emerald and it's a job opportunity for you..."
"I don't even have a partner to compete with-" he paused. "Oh, wait."
I began to nod. "I think you've forgotten that I was once a choreographer for the show."
"Jess, Max has had something against me for a while now. He's one of the judges this season and we both know he isn't going to act kindly toward us auditioning."
"You are very forgetful, aren't you? There are two other judges, Josh. All we need is a score of twenty to move on."
"So you really want to do this?"
"Yes, Josh! I really want to do this!"
He turned the car ignition on and began to back out.
"Whatever, Jess."
...
The waiting room was packed full of people. Most of which, had coaches with them.
Josh had his hood up and his sunglasses on like he always did and when he spoke, he spoke quietly so no one could recognize his voice.
"It's just like I remember it," he whispered.
"I'm sure all of your fans will freak out seeing you on the show again, but this time you'll be with your talented girlfriend," I teased.
"I'd rather spend seven hours of the day dancing with you that with the group of guys I was placed with last time."
"You're so charming," I said sarcastically.
"GROUP TWENTY-SEVEN!"
We stood up and shook the man's hand.
"Are you two ready?"
Josh pushed his sunglasses to the bridge of his nose. "Are you ready, darling?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
The man opened the door and we all walked in.
