It was kind of nice to have an all-expenses-paid first-class flight to NY. There was lots of room and you were asked if you wanted champagne. All-in-all, it was exceptionally classy.
Everyone on the flight looked like a million bucks, and then there was me with my dark hair pulled up into a messy bun and a dark hoodie that I kept pulled over half of my face.
Once we arrived in NY, we stood for what seemed like YEARS at the baggage claim. After two hours of waiting for our stuff, we finally gave up and asked the front desk. The man at the front desk called the unloading department and they said something about all of the bags being unloaded. I immediately began to freak out and so Josh had to take me by the arm and pull me into a quiet corner.
"Breathe, Jess."
"They lost our stuff, Josh! All I have is what I brought in my carry-on!"
"Me too, Jess. We'll get through this together."
I folded my arms and frowned. "I feel the need to seriously strangle someone right now."
He tried not to smile, but the corners of his lips upturned slightly. "Look, let's call an Uber and go shopping."
"Sorry, Josh. I'm not super rich and all I brought was a twenty-dollar-bill and we aren't getting our money from the airline back until we get home and check the mail!"
Josh reached in his pocket and pulled out a credit card. "Go crazy."
I raised my eyebrows and took it. "You're serious?"
"I'm serious."
I smirked. "Perks of having a rich boyfriend," I teased. Then I leaned in closer. "Nah, I'd still love you if you were dirt-poor living in a box."
He bursted out laughing. "You're cute, darling."
I stomped on his foot and watched him whine in pain. "Was that cute too?"
He looked up from his foot. "Kinda."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed him phone out of his pocket.
"Let's get an Uber limo," I said while making the purchase on his phone.
"A limo, eh?"
"You expect a queen to ride in anything less?"
He smiled again and chucked under his breath. "I don't know how many times I've said this before, but I freakin love you."
"I know," I said in a cute little voice before leading the way out of the sliding glass doors and into the parking lot.
...
We walked into our hotel-room and I immediately dropped all of my Nordstrom bags. My jaw dropped completely and my eyes bulged out of my head.
There was one King-sized bed and a huge living room connected to it. There was a jacuzzi instead of a bathtub and a shower bigger than the average walk-in closet.
There was a chandelier hanging from the high-ceilings and a walkout with a hot tub looking out over the glowing city lights in the darkness.
"THIS is the hotel that the crew stays in?" I asked.
"Yup. Nice, huh?"
