It's always toxic with you
Poisonous kisses and ripping teeth
Pain isn't the intention but it's impossible to avoidStunted breaths and aching lungs
Burning muscles and stinging touchesIt's never enough though
Bruising grips and sharp nails
Let you inside me skin and maybe then we'll find the closeness we craveMingled breath and choked cries
Clinging arms and arched spinesDraw you in for as long as I can
Indescribable taste and unparalleled smell
But in the end I always have to let you goCold sheets and forgotten stains
Soft cries and fake smilesIt's better this way though
Enforced denial and unmade promises
We pretend we won't break this way even though I've already shattered- starr
