Chapter 25: Back in Training

YU'S POV:

For the next few days after Mika's departure, I was mess. I went to sleep late, woke up late, forgot to eat and drink and when did remember, I ate like a pig! Shinoa frequently checked on me like I was an unwell five year old and she was my mother. Even after what she did to Mika, I'm still grateful she's my friend,
I rarely saw Yoichi, Mitsuba and Kimizuki. After sighting the vampire nobles on the Demon Army land, the Hiragis wanted to start training troops again, just in case the vampires tried anything. Shinoa did explain other reasons for troops being trained again, but I was in such a daze it all went over my head.

It's now been a week since Mika left and I've decided to stop moping about the house and being pathetic and pull myself together. I know Mika would hate it if he saw me in that state. The only thing left to sort out is my fucked up sleeping schedule, which won't be happening any time soon.
I walk into the kitchen, actually showered and in fresh clothes for a change. Shinoa is sat at the table, her back to me.

"Hey Shinoa." I say, trying to sound cheery. I clearly startle her because she whips her head around violently.

"Oh, Yu!" She says. She sounds drained. "I'm glad you're up." I walk over to the table to see Shinoa's scythe (let's hope I spelt that right) laying on it in front of her.

"What are you doing?" I ask, a little surprised, a little curious. She gently ran her fingers down the blade of her weapon.

"Just thought I'd play around a little. I haven't used this in ages.

"Hey, I haven't fought in ages either, I need a bit of training, how's about we have a fight. Y'know, like we did when we'd only just met?" Shinoa shrugs. She could obviously tell I'm feeling better, and even though she seems a little down in the dumps herself, she's still able to crack a smile. She smirks.

"Only if you want to get your ass kicked?"

AN: OMG tysm for 1k views it means so much. :) :) So after this story is finished I've already decided there won't be a sequel so I'm sorry to any one who was hoping for one but I'm not into ONS as I am with other things and I want the freedom to write what I want without having the certain restrictions that a fan fiction brings. But I have loved writing this fanfic so far and might write fanfics about other things in the future. I'd love it if you went and checked out 'Dear Lacy...' When it's published :) tysm guys.
