Chapter 29: ...at least i thought

YU'S POV:

I hear a loud knock at the door. I go to answer it but Kimizuki beats me. I stay in my room and hear the murmuring but the voice at the door brings my attention to the conversation.

"That's all I came to tell you. Please pass on the message, would you?" I could see perfectly clearly the smirk on his face as he said that line.

"Err... Why don't you tell him in person? Yu?" Kimizuki called. I rolled my eyes before I walked out the door of my room and down the hall to the front door. Just as I suspected. Ferid Bathory stands tall and full of authority in the door way, his almost permanent smirk stuck to his face, baring his fangs.

"What do you want." I state, not caring about my tone of voice. Kimizuki shoots me a stern look as he walks away.

"Now, Yuichiro, that's no way to talk to a noble." Ferid smiles. I'm not scared of him. He's wasting my bloody time and keeping my... friend from me.

"Mikaela will not be returning to your company. He has decided to stay with the vampire community. I hope you understand this was his decision. I am afraid he can no longer see you. He feels he is much more suited and welcomed in the vampire community. We hope you understand, young Yuichiro." I stand there, unable to speak. This can't be true. Mika hated the vampires, he's always said that since I got him back. Why have things changed now?!

"That's not true! I want to speak to him!" I half yell. Ferid's expression isn't phased.

"Mikaela is not longer allowed contact with humans outside the walls of the vampire city. He feels that will be safer for everyone. His thirst is uncontrollable, Yuichiro and you of all people should understand that." He says sternly, but with that same malicious grin plastered on his face.
I'm about to yell again when Shinoa joins me at the door.

"Good morning, Kimizuki told me the news. We thank you for your message." She nods her head politely towards the bloodsucker.

"You're very welcome, dear Shinoa." And with that, he struts away and Shinoa closes the door softly behind him, removing his presence and I'm left with a lump in my throat and a horrible sick feeling. I could throw up here and now. I feel like I could faint. Why did Mika do this?
He loves me... at least I thought.

The last thing I see before everything goes black are Shinoas big, brown, worried eyes and I feel her arms on my shoulders, helping my balance, until my legs give way beneath me.

AN: this story has been so slow so far ugh and it only took 29 chapters to start getting exciting and it's still not very exciting, this sucks. So I have a question for all of you, Mika or Yu? Personally I like Mika more.
