Back in their home Taylor was shaking, she couldn't even count how many things had gone wrong in the last minute. - "Taylor, my dear, I'm sorry to have to panic, but we are not alone" - Magnus whispered in total silence. In fact it was odd that a house populated by so many warlocks was so quiet. This as long as Taylor did not hear the screams of Zoe - "Zoe!" - she shrieked, reaching the room where they came from.

- "Careful!" - a demon was about to hit the baby girl, but out of nowhere appeared Clarissa who killed the monster. Taylor could feel Magnus fight in the adjacent room for a few seconds, until the silence didn't come back. The girl ran to Zoe and hugged her - "Taylor, why dad doesn't wake up?" - the children asked through the tears on her shoulder. - "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have left you alone" -Taylor restrained her sobs, she had to be the strong one, she could not break in front of Zoe.

- "Go join the others, my dear. This is no place for a little girl. Go" - the voice of Magnus came as a relief, his hand rested on Taylor's shoulders, while Zoe could not let go Taylor. - "Babygirl, listen to Magnus, reach the others, remember how powerful you are. Your mother is waiting for you somewhere, I promise" - Zoe nodded and hugged one last time the girl who had come to love over the last few weeks, then she ran away.

- "I heard what you did for Zoe. You risked your life without hesitation to save a young warlock child. You're not like the others, Clary Fairchild. Most Shadowhunters protect Downworlders out of sense of duty, but you saved young Zoe because of what was inside your heart. You're more like your mother than you will ever know, Taylor was right" - Taylor couldn't even listen to them, still kneeling on the floor thinking about how weak she was. She could have saved everyone if only she had been complete.

-"You? Again?" - Alexander's voice was a mixture of sarcasm and shock. He though that he would never see again the strange girl who continued to save their life. Everyone stared at Alec equally curious.

-"Alec, you're telling me that you know her? You said that I was crazy! You said that I had imagined it all!" - was the angry response from Clarissa, then she watched Taylor get up and arranging her hair as if nothing had happened.

- "We met a couple of times on the road, nothing special" - Taylor spoke with a low voice, scratched from the pain that did not allow to show.

- "Alec? Really? Now we have more important things to do, but it doesn't end here" - this time it was Jace talking while Alec rolled his eyes and watched Taylor again. - "Who are you? Why are you hiding and why you say to know Clary's mother? "- those were the first questions from Jace.

- "This is my sister, Taylor Bane, the rest will be explained later" - Magnus said and Taylor laughed hysterically. The group looked at her in disbelief. - "I am done, I want answers, now" - Clary said.

- "Clarissa, there's just too much to explain and little that concerns you. Just know that I knew your mother, she loved me like a daughter and I just want to return the favor. Please, let's talk about it later " - Taylor pleaded exhausted, her head was bursting.

- "Magnus, we need to work together" - Clary added, after deciding that for the moment the strange girl, her name was Taylor, would not run away. - "I can summon the demon, but you must make the demand. Now, I warn you... retrieving your memories will not be easy" - Taylor doesn't approve, but Clary wouldn't take her advince, so they decided by common accord to try.

After changing the location and realized the pentagram to summon the demon, everyone gathered in a circle, as well as Magnus had demanded. Before he could deploy the various orders, Magnus took the necklace that Jace gave him back. Taylor could see that Isabelle wanted it, so she thought that the warlock was going to give it to her, until he stepped back and ran towards Taylor's direction. Magnus put the pendant on Taylor's chest and forced her to wear it - "The Lightwoods have been wearing this for years, so it's yours by right" - he whispered kissing her cheek, unaware of the meaning of Magnus' words.
