The priority of the moment was to find Jocelyn, then she would have led to the true objective: the Cup. The group of Shadowhunters, Taylor included, had no other leads to follow. Taylor believed that all the answers were in the head of Clarissa, Jace instead believed they would have to ask the help of Magnus. At this point the blue-eyed girl would yell for him to change his mind and Jace would try to fight her, except that Alec with Clary were always there to separate them. Taylor understood that Jace wanted only to protect the girl for whom was starting to have feelings, but this gave him no right to doubt her word. As much as they had shared together, they knew that Taylor was a lethal weapon to have as an ally in a battle and not as an enemy.
Dressed completely in black and with her classic red lipstick, Taylor reflected on the new reality that she was living and despite the tragic circumstances, she felt like it was the right thing. The girl continued to spend most of her days lying on the huge bed inside her room. The place was still a bit bare, walls were decorated with some drawings that Clary had made for her mother and a portrait of Taylor that rapresented the girl during the night when they met.
In that portrait Taylor seemed a heroine, she looked strong and almost invincible. Too bad she was quite the opposite. Her family would no longer be proud of her and thinking about them was awful. The pain wasn't as strong as some years ago, but it was still there. Without the pain, Taylor wouldn't make sense. In a few days would be the anniversary of their death.
The girl shrugged when someone started knocking on her door, so she stood up and went to open the door, hoping that there was some good news. Instead Taylor found the two Lightwood blushing at her.
- "I hate repeating myself, but you act always weird and I have to ask you the same question everytime" - Isabella looked at her questioningly, while Alexander was trying to look elsewhere. - "What?" - Taylor laughed.
- "I don't think I've ever heard you laughing" - it was Alec, his features were less serious than the usual. - "I could say the same about you, but I'd have to admit that we are similar and therefore we could understand eachother, but I don't like to have social life" - Isabelle was ready to answer back, sure that it was another common point between the socially awkward girl and her big brother.
- "Our mother is coming back, she is in charge and already called me to tell that she would like to meet you and Clary" - Taylor stiffened immediately, Maryse was coming in the Institute. - "Meet your parents already? Things start to get serious" - Taylor realize how she liked teasing Alec, especially since that event in the kitchen. The girl was feeling constantly observed by him and she believed that the best defense was the attack.
- "Funny. If you really want to make a good impression, I would recommend you to get dressed " - Taylor looked confused by his words. Isabelle beckoned to her clothing and the young blonde noticed that she was wearing only an old and large shirt that came just below her lower back. It was one of Magnus, last night she was taken by a strong nostalgia.
- "Yes, sorry. Coming up in a few minutes" - it was the embarrassed answer by Taylor who closed the door in front of Lightwoods, hoping that Isabelle would give up on her. The young woman tried everything to get into Taylor's sympathies, without understanding that the girl in question did not need it. She could not care about someone, it would only bring more pain.
Removed everything she was wearing, she decided to squeeze in a yellow dress with long sleeves and wool. Lately she always felt cold and the winter was upon them. Simple black stockings and oxford completed her image. Came into the main hall of the Institute, Taylor approached Clary and Isabelle, the two girl were talking about something.
