GO TO READ MY NEW SHADOWHUNTERS FANFIC IN THE WORLD OF SOCIAL MEDIA, THANK YOU :)
The last time Taylor was locked up in that way, with real bars to prevent her from leaving, she had only ten years - she remembers tears stream down her face for the first time, hating herself because her father had taught her to be stronger than that, but there he couldn't see her, nobody could. Jonathan Morgenstern had locked her into that unfamiliar place to play with her, she remembers the cruel and monstrous look with which he had threatened her to follow him right there, right where the Sun was gone. Taylor remembers the terror, how the air became less and less, until her parents had found her and had decided to run away from Valentine - a fatal mistake. Taylor, now, felt on the skin that same situation, but the air missing was only an illusion. The concrete walls that surrounded her were grey, a white light came from the corridor outside, the only hallway that separated the girl from the freedom, but that was fine.
During that adventure, Taylor had grown up. She could never turn her back to Isabelle, though now she hated her. Isabelle was one of the few people to have tried earnestly to understand her and a couple of times she succeeded to do so - if Taylor could go back, she would accept her friendship and maybe she would tell her everything. Things would go in a very different way.
- "I'm sorry" - Taylor rolled her eyes with fatigue, she was not at all surprised that Isabelle was right there, the blonde was sure she would understand - "For what, specifically?" - Taylor asked, smiling, but without mentioning a movement. Isabelle noticed the position of the girl, Taylor was firm against the wall, sitting on the floor, knees bent against her chest as a sign of protection - "For believing that you were a traitor, the mistakes of your parents aren't yours"-
- "You're not sorry" - Taylor whispered bitterly - "The only mistake of my parents was to love me too much, you can go now" - Isabelle wanted to apologize a second time, even the Lightwoods had collaborated with the Circle, she didn't know the reasons which had take the Bellechilds to do the same - "I am also here to say thank you, someone told me that if you hadn't given up, they were going to arrest me" - Taylor looked directly the brunette kneeling in front of her cell -"This has shown me that you really care about us, even if I didn't have reason to doubt it... plus, it shows me that the Clave just wants the Cup, not a real traitor" -
- "I know" -
- "You know? And you're not going to do anything?" - Isabelle shook the prison bars with anger -"There's nothing left to do, I don't care" - Taylor avoided the gaze of the girl and stared at the floor - "You could be stripped of your runes or worse, they could decide to use you as a bait... or to kill you" - the blonde sketched a smile, she was aware of the various possibilities - "When I told Lydia that arrest me would have been a mistake, I didn't do it for myself... it's too late for me, but not for you" - Isabelle did not understand a word of that speech - "What the hell does that mean?" -
- "I hope that they condemn me to death, I'd rather die than get alive to Valentine" - Taylor confessed and Isabelle was speechless - "You're not going to try to win the trial? No, Taylor, I won't allow it!" - Isabelle rose and her heels echoed around the room. Taylor thought she was leaving but the Shadowhunter turned around one last time.
- "Fight Taylor, at least for him" - her broken voice didn't touch Taylor - "It's for him that I'm doing it" -
- "He wants to see you" -
