Pulse

In our hands we cradle frail life's frail spark,

Hollow glass gems glow soft in hollow palms,

Golden light dripping through your inner dark,

A fractured and ailing atomic bomb.

Every pulsing beat of a broken heart,

Echoes loud in our empty human shells,

Not even Death's dark hand shall do us part,

Alone, perfect heavens are perfect hells.

Love with every beating pulse in your veins,

Hold tight to that one perfect diamond gem,

And let light wash away the bloodied pain,

And together stand strong through the mayhem.
