A Long Night

Riker's POV

I walk into the hospital and go to the front desk.

"Hi, how may I help you sir?" The old lady asked.

"Um, I need to know what room Kayla Lynch is in? She came here in an ambulance she had babies." I guess she knows what I mean.

She starts messing around with her computer, she looks familiar, to familiar. She looks up from her desk.

"Oh now I know where I've seen you before. On the plane. I was the one who told Kayla, well both of you "Honey, since this boy can make you scream like that, you better hold onto him. I mean obviously you was trying to be quite, but if he's that good. Damn. You sir must be amazing. I wish my husband could of done that to me.""

My face went red. Especially since everyone was with me. They all gave me a what in the hell look. I just turned my attention back to the lady who's face was also bright red.

"Uh Uh. K. Now what about Kayla?"

"Well... she's in the Intensive Care Unit right now.."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN ICU!?"

"Please calm down. Look when they brought her in she lost a lot of blood giving birth. They're working on her right now. You can go up to labor and delivery and wait. Or you can see you babies."

My heart just stopped. I can go threw this again. The thought of loosing her, no I just no I can't. I fell to my knees and my mom knelt down beside me.

"Baby, it's going to be fine. Don't worry." u cut her off

"HOW IN THE HELL IS IT GOING TO BE FINE! WHAT IF SHE....." I couldn't speak those dreaded words.

"Rocky, Ross, help Riker up. Carry him, something."

I shook my head no and it didn't do no good. I started weeping, I just can't stand the thought of loosing her. I felt them sit me in a wheelchair. I buried my head in my hands. We got up to the delivery and I honestly didn't pay any attention to what was being said.

We got up stairs and I seen a giant glass window. I look up and over and see babies, lots of babies. The nurse looked up and motioned for us to come in the door.

We went over as she unlocked the door. I got up from the Wheelchair and just kind of stood there.

"You want to hold your babies?"

"Well not all at once." I half ass smiled.

She laughed along first she handed me a boy. I don't even know their names yet. I have to wait for.... My eyes starting tearing up, just holding one of my now 4 babies. Thinking about Kayla, what if she never gets to see them? The phone rang.

"Yeah, uh huh. Okay I'll let him know." She walks over to me taking the baby.

"What's going on?" I ask as she sits the baby down.

"Step outside with me." She leads me to the door.

My heart is in my damn feet. Not my stomach, my feet.

"What's going on?" Rocky and Autumn asked together.

"Well. It's about Kayla." My eyes started filling with tears. This can't be good.

"Don't start making up conclusions just yet. Right now they have her stabilized, But you can't see her right yet cause she is asleep. I'm not sure when you will be able to."

"SHE'S GOING TO BE OKAY THOUGH RIGHT?!"

"Yes she's going to be fine. She's just extremely weak."
