Mrs. Cavanaugh.

The name echoed in my head making me go weak in the knees, I would be lying if I said that I didn't like the sound of it. It took me a while before gathering up enough strength to correct the guy.
As we entered the building I came to a stop, looking at the guard who had mistaken my name.

"Mrs. Hastings." I told him.

He rose a perplexed eyebrow before catching on to what I was saying. "My apologies, it will not happen again." he replied, offering a friendly smile.

Smiling back at him, we continued making our way down the crowded hallways.
Decorations were being hung, the orchestra was rehearsing in a formation of a line, tables with a beautiful red cloth and chairs were being set out, everything was all coming together from the looks of it.

Finally we had arrived at the kitchen and I was immediately greeted by the smell of different cultural foods.
"We should wait for Mr. Cavanaugh before we enter." The guard on my left asked.

It was only then that I noticed both of the men standing on either side of me were twins.
One had a faint smile and the other had an unreadable expression.

Guessing just from their looks, the one on my right with the faint smile was the one I had talked to.
"What are your names?" I asked, the question directing towards who ever was willing to answer and of course it was the one on my right.

"I'm Alec and that's my brother Jace- He doesn't talk much," Alex answered quickly.
I nodded my head in understanding.

Looking back and fourth between them there was a very small difference. Jace had beautiful hazel eyes, and a muscular frame. Alec also had,a muscular frame but it wasn't as sculpted as Alec's, and his eyes were an emerald color.

"Alec takes his job very seriously, I don't think there was ever a time he wasn't this serious about something." Alec glared at his brother who just chuckled.

"Unlike you I take this job seriously because this is another life we have to protect and we all know what happened the first time so I suggest you keep your guard up this time because Mr. Cavanaugh will not let it slide again." Alec said in a dangerously low voice.

As he spoke I could see nervousness take over Jace as he shifted his eyes back to me as if I didn't already know about Alison.

If I hadn't made a promise to Emily, I would have assured him that everything was okay since I knew a part of what happened to Alison but not everything.

There was still the mystery of what happened to her and now I wanted to know where Alec and Jace had come into the story.

It seems like after Emily told us the story of Alison and Toby more questions began to form in my head.

Breaking me out of my thoughts, I had realized that Alec was speaking
"I'm sorry Alex I wasn't paying much attention I just. . . Spaced out." I apologized.

"Nothing I said was important I was just wondering if you were actually gonna go through with taste testing since this morning Mr. Cavanaugh practically forced you to eat."

I nodded my head hesitantly. I wasn't sure that I would eat everything but I,would try to eat as much if it would satisfy Toby.
"I don't really have a choice, I think he's starting to get worried."

"I am," A soft voice replied from behind me.
I turned around coming face to face with Toby, his blue eyes connections to my brown ones.
"I'm starting to get worried about a lot of things that's going on with you and these secrets aren't helping-"
"I-"
"Let me finish," he frowned. "I know you said that you would tell but if there is anything I should know then it should have been the first time you received that note."

I didn't know what to say, I was spewchless- completely at lost for words.
He made a point, I should have told him but then again I didn't feel like I needed to tell him when we had barely just met. There is still a part of me that thinks that.
The only thing that makes me want to tell him is the trust that he had somehow earned in seconds.

"I didn't mean to upset you." Toby said while gesturing for his guards to leave us alone to talk.
Once they were out of site he cupped my cheek kissing me shortly.
"Toby. . . You already have so much to worry about and I don't want to be added to that list." I admitted.

"I had a lot to worry about but now your all I have on my list- other than that document." He chuckled.
I smiled, placing a hand over his which still cupped my cheek.

He looked at our hands becoming even more serious.
"How did I not notice this before?" He asked himself although I heard. I was confused for a moment before I remembered that I had a bandaid on still.

"It's nothing I just cut my finger on a piece of glass." I assured him.
His eyes stayed glued to my hand,"why would you touch glass?"

"Dean bumped into some guy that just so happened to be holding a tea pot and some tea cups- and I helped clean up the mess, slicing my finger in the process."

Expecting him to be angry I looked away but surprisingly he simply grabbed my hand, kissing the bandaid.
"Beautiful and kind." He murmured.
I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Let's go taste test." I blushed walking through a white door, leaving a chuckling Toby to follow in pursuit.

"Mr. Cavanaugh it is great to see that you have arrived, we have been expecting you and Mrs. Hastings you as well." The guy smiled at me.
I could have sworn that I heard a low growl erupt from Toby and the worker must have as well because he took a step back.

"Holbrook I suggest that we finish this as fast as possible I have other things to do which means you only have about twelve minutes." Toby said nonchalantly.

The workers eyes widened and they quickly began placing different types of food on plates.
I looked up at Toby,"what do you have to do?" I asked.

"I have to go back home so I can finish the other half of my sleep before this. . . I don't even know what to call it- party doesn't suit it well."

At the mention of sleep I could no longer hold back a yawn.
Toby smirked,"feel free to join me."
I opened my mouth to respond but was cut off by Toby's phone ringing and I lost count of how many tiles is has rung this morning.

Toby answered without even looking at the caller I.D. his eyes flickering to me every now in then. Soon the call ended and Toby rose from his seat.
"We will have to cut this short, Spencer lets go." he said.
I got off of the chair and caught up with him,"is something wrong?" I asked. In response he shook his head from side to side.
"No, Emily says that
Mr. Hastings is demanding that he speaks with you. . . in private."
