Chapter 8

                                                                                  The Dark Side vs. The Light

Satele jumped in the air to attack Ahsoka with a ferocious slice, but she evaded the attack with relative ease. Ahsoka then tried to slash at Satele's feet, but the Jedi master jumped over the attack. Ahsoka used the force to throw Satele into the archives, she flew right through the shelves. Satele using her agility flipped up and threw her double bladed saber at Xina, she easily caught it though she did not see that Satele kicked her in the stomach. Xina clenched her stomach in pain, she now knows the physical power of a true Jedi Master. Satele went for another kick, but Xina caught her foot and twisted it much to Satele's agony. Xina and Satele got up and looked at each other from across the hall, there was nothing but silence. "I must admit, I haven't been this worked up over a fight since my duel with Darth Malgus," said Satele. "Darth Malgus is nothing compared to me, I am the most powerful Sith in the galaxy!" shouted Ahsoka. "You're overconfidence will be you're undoing," said Satele. She jumped and began to fight more ferociously, to Ahsoka's shock. She knew she would have to pick up the pace if she wanted to defeat Satele. She remembers her master's Darth Vader method of fighting, use overwhelming offense and incorporate it into solid defense. She began to block Satele's overwhelming offense, she twirled her lightsabers and blocked a fatal blow to her neck. Ahsoka saw an opportunity to strike, so she began her expert lightsaber offense. Satele blocked all of her strikes with amazing precision and finesse. Ahsoka began to think how to penetrate her defenses, if she gave herself completely to the dark side maybe she could have an advantage. Satele saw an opening and sliced down on Ahsoka's arm, leaving a huge gash. Ahsoka screamed in tremendous pain, as her attacker advanced toward her. Ahsoka looked down at the ground and closed her eyes, and the Temple began to shake. Satele stumbled backwards and looked over at Ahsoka, she finally gave in to the full nature of the dark side. Her headpiece began to turn pale, and it began to crack. Her skin turned pale orange, and her nails grew longer and sharp like claws. She opened her eyes, and they were no longer piercing blue. They were now golden yellow and a red outline around them, filled with hatred and rage. She got up and activated her lightsabers then charged at Satele with increased speed. Satele couldn't see where she went, suddenly she felt a boot kick her in the back. She flew into the Temple walls. She got up and stumbled, but contained her composure. Ahsoka jumped into the air, and using the force to augment her speed she charged straight into Satele. The force of impact to Satele was like Darth Malgus took over her body. She pushed Ahsoka off her, but she lifted Satele up with the force and began to choke her. Satele used the force to grab Ahsoka's arm and Satele clenched her hand into a fist, and Ahsoka felt her bones in her arm snap in two. She screamed in pain as she let go of her grip on Satele's throat. Satele began to cough so violently that she coughed up blood onto the floor. Ahsoka became enraged at the outcome of her arm and slashed at Satele's throat, but barely came close as Satele felt the smoldering heat at her throat. Satele countered with a retaliation slice at Ahsoka's abdomen, but also barely missed for Ahsoka felt the heat of the saber at her stomach. Satele went to slice at Ahsoka's leg, but Ahsoka jumped over her and used her full power to kick Satele's leg. She felt her bone break and it pierced through her skin, she couldn't move, the blood started to spurt out onto the ground. Ahsoka smiled sadistically as she sliced down at Satele's hands, and cut them clean off. She fell to her knees as she saw blood drain from where her hands used to be, and sat there in complete silence. "Any last words Jedi?," asked Ahsoka lifting her saber over Satele's head. Satele looked up and stared into Ahsoka's eyes, and felt pity. "You're Anakin's slave, you have so much more potential to become the Republic's last hope," said Satele. "Liar, my master cares about me more than anyone!", shouted Ahsoka in rage. "In my years, the Sith always betrayed each other, I'm sure you'll find that out soon enough," said Satele. "You'll never convince me to rebel against my master!," shouted Ahsoka. "You're hatred blinds you child, you want more power I see it, you want to take you're masters place," said Satele calmly. "Enough!," shouted Ahsoka raising her saber higher to kill Satele. "May you're Empire fall from the power of the Republic," said Satele defiantly. Ahsoka slashed through Satele's neck and the blood from the decapitation splattered all over her face. She used the force to grab her lightsaber to return to her master. "There is no Republic, I'm glad I left this place," said Ahsoka. She walked towards the exit and one of Vader's men of the 501st legion of Clone Troopers gave her a detonator. "General Xina, press the button and this whole place goes straight to hell," said the trooper. Ahsoka looked at the detonator and ordered the trooper to fly behind her to get a safe distance away from the temple. She clicked the button and Temple began to implode and she walked away from the Temple and put her hood up. She is finally free of the Jedi's grip on her life. She was finally free of them, but Satele's words stuck in her brain. How did she know that she wanted to take his master's place by the Emperor's side? She wanted to control the Galactic Empire, but she wanted to keep it a secret from everyone. She won't tell her master what transpired with Satele's final words. She will devise a plan to convince her master to put more trust in her, that way she can get closer to him. She flew off into the sky with the Jedi Temple burning into a smoldering oblivion behind her.
