Fingerprints that leave me covered for days

I looked over to Tony, who was sitting cross legged on the mattress in front of me.

"Tony, what are you doing?" I groggily asked, questioning his chipper mood.

"I don't know, I couldn't sleep, so I just kind of sat here, hoping you might wake up eventually." He said, fumbling with the case onto his phone.

"Well come lay down next to me, we can talk or something." I said patting the spot on the mattress next to me as I rolled over onto my back.

He flopped down next to me and gently kissed my forehead.

"Well, it's 4 in the morning....what can we talk about?" I awkwardly questioned, locking my fingers with his.

He quickly turned to face me. "What do you dream about?"

I pushed my lips into a pencil thin line a thought about the question for a moment, attempting to make a good answer for his question.

"Tony...I honestly don't know. I mean, can I tell you something kind of stupid?" I asked, blushing at the thought that was standing on the edge of my tongue.

"Nothing you say is stupid," he smiled.

"Well, I used to dream about you....and the future I wanted us to have...and now that you're here, I wake up not remembering anything I dreamt about." I leaned up and interlocked my fingers with his, straddling his waist.

I leaned my forehead against his and pressed my lips to his. "I guess it's because all of those dreams came true." I breathlessly whispered.

"Jade, we've only been dating 3 months....but I can truly say, that I love you beyond belief." He said, resting his hands on my hips.

I smiled at him and pressed my lips to the tip of his nose.

"Tony, now it's almost 5...and I'm tired. Can we go to sleep now?" I asked, sighing and wrestling my way out of his grip.

He laid down Next to me and held out his arms.

"Come here babe." He said.

I rolled over into his side and cuddled up to him.

I laid my head and hand onto his chest.

"Goodnight beautiful, I love you," her said, kissing the crown of my head.
