Later that day, you're heading into the kitchen for a snack when you hear loud whispering. You hide behind the door so you can eavesdrop without being caught.
"...is this wrong?" you ask yourself.
Well, it's too late now. If you move you'll be spotted, and the situation would be difficult to explain.
Mabel and Dipper are the ones whispering, and they seem to be arguing about something.
-show her," Dipper was saying. "I know we can trust her."
"Dipper, it's just a bunch of made up stories. You have no proof that any of them exist!" Mabel huffs, and you can tell by the tone of her voice that she's annoyed.
"True, but why would someone write such detailed captions about these creatures if they weren't real." Dipper points out.
"It's probably written by some lonely old dude who didn't have anything better to do then write this and stick it in a tree." Mabel laughs.
You're very confused, and decide that while they're so focused on eachother, it might be a good time to leave your hiding place.
"What's up?" you ask, trying to act casual. Dipper stares at Mabel.
"Fine!" Mabel calls out, "Do whatever you want. But I doubt she'll believe you." she stomps out of the room.
"What was that about?" you ask, looking through the cabinet for some chips.
Dipper reaches into his vest pocket and takes out an old red book with a six fingered hand on the cover. Your eyes go wide.
"I found this about a week ago, in the forest. It has a ton of, well, supernatural things in it that are supposedly all here in Gravity Falls. Mabel thinks it's dumb, because I don't have any proof, but I still believe that it's real." He glances up at you, waiting for what you will say.
"Can I see the book?" you ask cautiously.
He hands it to you and you flip through the pages. There are tons of drawings and notes scribbled all over them.
"Wow. This is really cool!" you exclaim.
"Wait, really? You really think so? I thought you would think it was stupid." Dipper looks down.
"No way, dude! This stuff is wicked cool! We should all go exploring sometime, see if we can find any of this stuff!"
Dipper's eyes light up. "Yeah! That would be awesome!"
Just then, Wendy walks in. "What's up, dorks? Haha, just kidding. Ooh, I see Dipper's shown you his story book."
"They aren't just stories - they're real. And me and y/n are going to prove it." Dipper protests.
Wendy walks over to the fridge and opens it, peering inside.
"Alrighty then. Hey, that reminds me. Do you guys and Mabel want to come hang out with me and my friends tomorrow? There's this cool convenience store we're gonna go to." Wendy looks at you both, a glint of mischief in her eyes.
"Legend says, it's haunted.
