The Mystery Room was coming along great. You had gotten rid of the rug and replaced it with a different one that you can put sleeping bags on for late night conspiracy meetings, moved in a couch that you can sit on to study the journal, and 4 bulletin boards to post your theories.
Mabel went out with her friends as an apology for last night, so you and Dipper had been working on the room for almost half the day. You couldn't think of anything else you wanted to add right now, so you went down stairs. You had just turned on the tv to start watching Ducktective, when Mabel comes home.
She skips through the door and announces, "I have a boyfriend!"
You and Dipper are so shocked that you both drop the bags of chips you were eating, spilling them on the floor.
"What?!" you ask, not sure if you had heard Mabel correctly.
"Mabel - in the half a day we weren't with you, you went out and got yourself a boyfriend?!" Dipper asks, standing up.
"Yep! His name's Norman, and he's waiting outside! Come meet him!" Mabel exclaims as she walks out the door.
You and Dipper look at each other.
"Is she serious?" he asks you.
"Only one way to find out." you reply, standing up.
Outside, Mabel's standing next to a tall figure in a black hoodie, ripped jeans, and sneakers. The hood's pulled up over his head right now, so you can't see his face, but you notice that he's about an entire foot taller than Mabel.
Mabel steps forward. "Y/n and Dipper, this is Norman. Norman, this is y/n and Dipper." she starts bouncing up an down on the balls of her feet.
Norman looks in your direction, and you see his face for the first time. It takes all of your willpower not to flinch. He has extremely pale skin, and wild eyes, one of which is covered by his hair.
"He looks like a psyco killer," you whisper to Dipper, who replies with a small, "Yeah."
"Well, me and Norman are going on a date now, so bye!" Mabel turns and starts walking away, but Dipper grabs her elbow.
"Can we speak to you in private, please?" he asks nervously.
Mabel glances over at Norman. "Sure, I gue-"
Before she even finishes her sentence, you're both pulled inside by Dipper, who slams the door shut.
"I feel like I recognize him from somewhere . . ." Dipper pulls out his journal and starts flipping through the pages.
"Mabel, you're twelve! You're way too young to have a boyfriend! What were you thinking?!" You start shaking Mabel's shoulders.
"Here! I found it!" Dipper exclaims, and starts reading from one of the journal's pages. "'With their pale skin and bad attitudes, zombies are usually mistaken for teenagers.' That's it!" he points to a picture that looks a lot like Norman, but is made up of all bones instead of flesh like a human.
"Norman is not a zombie!" Mabel stomps her foot. "Why can't you guys be happy for me? All I want is to be able to go one day without you two ruining it with your crazy conspiracies." She opens the front door, walks out, and slams it in your faces. You look down at your hands.
"That didn't go well." Dipper says, slowly adjusting his hat.
"Hey." you say, and Dipper looks up at you. "We don't really ruin everything, do we?" you ask carefully.
"Nah, she's just saying that because she's mad." Dipper tells you, but he doesn't seem so sure of himself.
Just then, Wendy walks by. "Hey, dorks. Wanna come hang out on the roof with me?"
Dipper's face instantly brightens, and you laugh.
"Sure! Yeah! We'd love too!" he exclaims, and Wendy gives him a weird look.

After an afternoon throwing pine cones and hitting various targets attached to the totem pole, Mabel comes back, walking through the woods with Norman's arm around her. You and Dipper climb down to greet her.
"Where did you guys go?" you ask as you approach.
"To the cemetery." Mabel smiles. "He's really deep."
"Uh, are you bleeding, Norman?" Dipper asks, pointing out a red substance glistening on Norman's chin.
"No, it's . . . jam." Norman grunts. "Well, I'll be on my way," He hastily turns around and trudges off into the forest.
"Isn't he just dreamy?" Mabel says, smiling an looking off into the distance.
You an Dipper look at each other for the second time today. "Sure."

The next morning, you sit up in bed to see Mabel standing in from of your bedroom mirror. She's already dressed, with fancy jewelry and everything.
"Mabel? Why are you so dressed up?" you question groggily, waiting for the sleepiness to fade.
"I have a date with Norman!" she says excitedly.
"Another one?" You look over at the clock. "At 7:00 in the morning? Mabel, the shop isn't even open yet. Half the town is sleeping." you gesture towards Dipper, who's sound asleep in his bed.
"I know, I know, but he says that there's something important he wants to tell me, and he doesn't want anyone else around when he does." she grins, and you make a horrified face.
"He's gonna eat your brains, Mabel!" you stand up - a little too quickly, because you suddenly feel dizzy and end up having to sit back down on the bed.
"No, he's not!" Mabel yells, running out of the room.
That's when you notice what she was looking at; a small video camera that's sitting on the dresser.
"What's on the camera?" you call down stairs, hoping to get an answer before she leaves.
"It's just stuff I filmed of me and Norman. You can look at it if you want!" she shouts, her words fading as she runs out the front door.
You pick up the camera, turn it on, and click through the different videos. Maybe you were going a little crazy. I mean, there's not anything suspicious on the camera, just a bunch of hand holding, hopscotch playing, and - Norman's hand falling off?! You flip back to that video.
It's a view of the two kids with their backs facing the camera. Norman's arm is around Mabel just like it was yesterday. Then, all of a sudden, Normand's hand just pops off and falls to the ground. He reaches down, grabs it with his other hand, and screws it back on!
Oh no, oh no oh no oh no.
