I don't think I disappeared. If I did, I'm terribly sorry.

The next morning, I'm woken up by a scream. My natural instinct is to sit up and grab my wand, and this time, it's actually needed. Because in the bed next to me, Millie has set fire to herself.
So much for magic.
I sigh and roll over to her, and cast a spell so she's no longer on fire. "Millie, how the hell do you set fire to yourself at five am in the bloody morning?" I ask her, squinting up at her. I'm still on the floor, and all the other girls have woken up. They start to move about, heading into the bathroom. I hear one of the girls mention something about breakouts and concealer.
"I don't know! I just woke up and I picked up my wand and next thing I know, I'm burning!" I look at Millie's bedside table, which holds a book, hairband and a candle.
"Did you put your arm in your candle?" Millie looks down, ashamed.
"Yes."
"Oh, Merlin, help me now."
"Hey! I'm still asleep! I'm not sure that, if a bird pooed on me, I could tell it apart from rain. That's how tired I am."
"And I'm going back to bed."
"Oh no you don't!" Marie yells. She comes out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in her mouth. She points at me. "You, shower, now." I groan, but comply. You don't want to get on Marie's bad side.
Breakfast is a merry affair. Apparently, the kitchens have broken down (I'm not entirely sure how they work. I mean, isn't this a school of magic?) and all that's left is what was from desert the night before. You know what that means?
Cupcakes. For breakfast!
It feels like the start to a good day. Ezra and I fill ourselves up with muffins, and I tell him about Millie's accident. "It's not my fault! It's the candles," she whines, glaring at me. I snort.
"Millie, you're sounding a lot like Vanessa Krynick." She makes a face, and we both turn to look at our fellow fifth year Slytherin. She catches us looking, and her faces darkens instantly. She's always had a problem with us; but I don't know why.Maybe it's to do with the fact that my brother and his friends once pranked her.
"I take that back," Millie said.
First lesson, we have Potions. I like Potions, but I'm not the best at it. However, for some reason, Slughorn likes me. I think it's because my dad created the world's most-used hair potion. I can't even remember the name of the damn thing.
Anyway, we get to class early enough for Ezra, Millie, Will and I to share a table. Will says he doesn't want to be surrounded by Marie and Cameron during their on season, and have to take sides during their off season. I'm guessing it's because he actually likes Millie, but doesn't want to say anything because he's so nervous.
Potions has always been the lesson that we share with the Gryffindors; just like Transfiguration. This annoys both Millie and Ezra greatly, only because they're Gryffindors. I highly doubt that everyone else cares. I've always asked them why, but Ezra just waves it off as 'family ties' and Millie dislikes their teasing, but won't say anymore than that. And it just so happens that the only table left is the one next to ours- this means the Gryffindors who sit there will be able to talk to us easily.
"No!" Millie whisper-shouts. She doesn't swear.
"Hey! My brother's sitting there," I whisper-shout back. Slughorn is speaking now.
"Yeah, but Sirius Black is sitting there!"
"And? Millie, if you have a crush on him, I'd have to disown you," Ezra butts in. Yep, I'm friendless. Or, well, if they find out.
"No! He's the worst of them all!"
"Miss Potter, Miss Janes and Mr Parker, are you all right back there?" Slughorn says. Millie's whisper shout had progressed a bit too loud.
"We're fine, sir," Ezra says. Slughorn nods, then carries on with what he was saying. Once we're set with a potion to make (he likes to challenge us), we're set off.
"So, I heard you defend me back there," James says to me whilst we're getting out our ingredients. I roll my eyes.
"You really think you're something special, don't you," I say to him. It's not really a question.
"Well, yes. I am James Potter, after all." I shake my head and sigh. Whoever thought it was a good idea to let James run around the planet wasn't very smart.
"Would you ever defend me?" Sirius asks me.
"Probably not."
