1k reads! I know that doesn't seem very big, but it is to little me, with twenty-something stories and GCSE level education and very, very little time on my hands. Thank you all so much!!!!!

"Can I tell you something?" he asked.
"Sure," I smiled at him, and offered my ear. Instead of whispering in it, though, he grabbed my chin gently, turned my head and kissed me.

Immediately, I gasped because, well, I wasn't expecting it. A few seconds later, though, I was prepared and got into the kiss, only to feel as if someone was staring at us. I rested my forehead against his. "What's the bet that's my brother standing there?" I asked him.
"He is there. There is no bet to make," Sirius replied, not moving either.
"Black," James fumed. "Just what in the name of Merlin's saggy pants do you think you're doing?" I snorted. "Don't get me started on you, young lady!" James exclaimed. I sat up.
"Jeez, James, calm down," I told him.
"No, I won't calm down. Because you know what? He is the kind of guy who will pretend to love you, break your heart the next day and have a new girlfriend by the end of the week!" James yelled, pointing at Sirius. Sirius put his hands up.
"Mate. I wouldn't do that. You know I wouldn't do that. Ask Remus. Honestly, I swear," Sirius informed him seriously.
"And why should I ask Remus?"
"Because he knows! He knows it all! Go ask him!"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm your boobs," I butted in. I could feel the heat of the tension warm me up. "Both of you, this is going nowhere. Yes, Sirius and I kissed, but it's not the first time I've had a boyfriend. It won't be the last. Someday, I might get married," I said specifically to James. "You have to accept that."
"Yes, but Mum told us to look after each other. He's only going to hurt you!"
"You don't know that, James!"
"Yes I damn well do!"
"Talk to Lupin, then. Like Sirius said. But if you want to protect me, you can't just get mad at everyone who kisses me." James started to say something, but then he closed his mouth, shook his head and left. I looked at Sirius and put his left hand in between both of mine.
"He's wrong, right? You won't hurt me like that, and have a new girlfriend by the end of the week?" Sirius looked at me.
"Promise," he, well, promised, smiling at me. "I pinky promise."
