"Summer!" Ezra yelled, running about the common room like a five-year-old. I could barely hold in my laugh as he flopped onto the sofa, knackered. "I am so unfit," he informed me, panting.
"That's because you barely do any kind of workout. You don't even run to class when you're late!" I remarked, smiling at him.
"Well, I'd have to be late for that to happen."
"Ez. You walked into Potions late on Wednesday wearing a sign that said, 'I'm late, bitches.'"
"Okay, well, maybe I'm late sometimes." He paused, then turned to the stairs of the common room. "Mills! Will! You ready? We're going to be late for the train!"
"The train doesn't even leave for, like, two hours," Mille pointed out.
"What? My watch does not- oh, wait, nope, it's way ahead," Ez corrected, pausing.
"How much sugar have you had today?" I asked him, wearily.
"I don't know. Maybe about seven cubes? Why? Is that a problem?"
"Yeah. I'm going to go see if I can find Sirius," I told Ezra, getting up.
"You're going to see him every day this summer! You won't see me every day this summer!"
"We can write," I replied, turning to wave at him as I exited the room. He rolled his eyes dramatically.

On my way to find him, I actually did bump into my boyfriend. He seemed to be alone, too.
"Cath!" he exclaimed, immediately pulling me into a hug.
"Sirius!" I replied, but it was a little muffled.
"You know, I was on my way to find you," he told me.
"Same," I agreed, looking up at him.
"But, I have news," he added.
"Do tell."
"You know how my parents are complete... plonkers, right?" I nodded. James had told me a lot about them. "Well, I've decided to not grace their summer with my presence, but spend it at yours." I smiled, then paused.
"Eh?"
"I'll be there. 24/7. I cleared it with your dad. He's fine. I mean, I'll be sleeping in James' room, but we still get to see each other all the time!"
"You'll see morning me," I said. "Morning me is not pretty."
"I've already seen morning you. Paris?" he reminded me.
"Oh, yeah. That's cool," I decided, smiling up at me.
"Brilliant. So, see you later?"
"Yeah."

I didn't really want to go home. I mean, yeah, I missed my dad, but home reminded me of mum. A lot. And I missed her so much, it nearly hurt. But, at least Sirius would be there. And I still had James and Dad, right?
