Look at that. 'Part' two. This story has a long way to go, so tell me- who currently is your favourite character? Also, this chapter is kind of sad. I had tears writing it. Thanks for reading, even though it's short.
Dad met us at the station and drove us home, and we even got fish and chips, but something felt... off.
I couldn't put my finger on it at first, but I knew it had nothing to do with the fact Mum was... dead. That made nothing feel right. I felt guilty for smiling. But it was more to do with Dad himself. Something felt very, very off. He seemed a little weaker, a little sadder. Like the sun moving behind the clouds. I could feel that James felt it too, and the happiness of Sirius being with us wore off quicker than he wanted.
"So," James started, as we both sat on the sofa. Sirius was on the toilet, and Dad was in the kitchen. "Something seems up with Dad."
"I know. It's giving me major anxiety. He looks... grey," I suggested, but it wasn't the right word.
"Well, I researched, you know, dragon pox, and it's passable through sexual intercourse," James informed me.
"What are you saying?" I asked, not liking where it was going.
"Well, what if there was a slight chance that, that Dad has it too?" I choked on my chip.
"Shut the front door," I proclaimed, putting my food down. James checked the door to make sure that neither Dad nor Sirius was near.
"I'm serious, Cath. That could happen."
"James. We can't lose Dad! Not so soon. Not now. Not, not..." James pulled me into a hug as I started crying, slowly but surely. I shook my head against his chest.
"I don't like it either, Cat," James said, calling me my childhood nickname.
"No. That can't happen. It can't!" I whined.
"Cath, we can't exactly stop it."
"What if we find the cure?" James laughed, but it was sad.
"Come on, Cath. We just got to make whatever we got with him the best it will be."
"What'll happen to us if he dies, though?" James shook his head.
