Some people got the real problems,
Some people out of luck

Rag'n'Bone Man // Human

I was really, really, really damn excited to get back to school. I mean, I wasn't sure about James, who was probably basking in the month we had off, but I was so ready to be distracted. Having a break with nothing to do made me think of Mum, but school would keep me busy. After, we had a good bit to catch up on.
"You missed out on three exams! Three!" Marie exclaims, walking with me to breakfast seeing as everyone else had ditched us.
"That's not a lot."
"Er, one of them was Potions, and Slughorn is hinting that it could contribute to our O.W.L grades!"
"I'll make up for it, Marie, don't worry."
"Nice. On the other hand, Will threw a chair at Snape," she said. I snorted.
"What? Seriously?"
"Yuh-huh!"
"Oh, my Merlin."
"I know, right? It is so unlike him."
"I think that I am proud."
"I know!"

My first lesson back was Care of Magical Creatures. It was one of my favourite classes, because who didn't like animals, much less taking care of them? However, I was the only Slytherin in there. It seemed that not many of my fellow housemates shared my love.

On the contrary, the rest of the class featured Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs, including the ones I liked. There was an equal amount of Hufflepuffs, and an odd amount of Gryffindors. This meant if we ever had to do partner work, I'd have to go with one of them. Usually, it was Frank Longbottom, a sort-of friend of my brother who was decent, and nice enough. When he wasn't going on about his girl friend, Alice. It was cute, but to an extent.

Today, though, I seemed to be in luck, as Sirius decided to go with me, instead of Remus Lupin as he usually did. "Hey, Potter," he said, as we were putting out the "trunk" of our trees. Today, we were going to start working on Bowtruckles, and as they liked trees, that would be how we were going to attract them. Seeing as planting real trees would take hundreds of years we didn't have, we just used fake trees. "Hello, Black. Opting for change? I think this must be the first time you've not gone with one of your squad," I replied.
"Nah, I just thought that you, well," he tried, trailing off. I stood up properly.
"What, that I wouldn't want to talk to anyone else? Lay off it, I'm fine." All of a sudden, he looked nervous. I smiled.
"Don't be scared, Black. Just, don't treat me like fine china? If I'm upset, I'll talk about it."
"To me?"
"To James. Or Ez. Haven't decided on you yet." He rolled his eyes.  "Now, I believe we have a tree to build, so if you could hand me those leaves."
"Right, then I'll do this side of the tree, and you can do the rest."
