"And away we go! Sixth year. Wow. This is-"
"Don't you get all nostalgic on me," I warned, nudging Ezra's shoulder.
"But don't-"
"Ez."
"Leave him alone. I kind of feel the same," Millie interrupted, glaring at me. I held my hands up.
"Anyway," Marie said, sitting down next to me. "We haven't got time to be all soppy. This year is going to go by so fast, and then we're going to be seventh years and then it'll all be over. It's going to get harder." Millie frowned.
"Way to be nice," she sneered, then left. We all watched her go.
"What's her problem?" Cam asked, putting an arm around Marie. Will shrugged, then spoke.
"I heard her parents got tougher on her over the holidays. You know, tried to set her straight." Ezra and I exchanged looks. This could be bad.
"So," Ezra started, changing the subject. He moved over to sit with Will. "How was your holiday?" My mind flashed back to Dad, how he'd looked worse over the holidays, how he'd seemed to have gotten ill-er, and shook my head.
"It was alright. Yours?"
"Boring. One hundred percent."
