The car continued to move along as their journey continued.
"Where exactly are we going?"
"To your home Jake. We picked a spot that would be more comfortable for you, and it's only two blocks from the high school,"
"High school?"
"Yes,....oh they didn't tell you?"
"I have to go to high school!?" He shouts.
"Um...yes?"
"Dang it...frigging hell why?"
"What's the issue? Weren't you homeschooled online?"
"Yes i was, but that's different! I was on my own! But now I have to be surrounded by people! Strangers!"
"It won't be that strange Jake, there is one good thing about it," she says winking.
"Golly what could it be?" He says sarcastically.
"Well our friends from online, Roxy and Dirk, they live in the area and go to that school. Including me as well,"
"Really?! I'll finally be able to meet them?"
"Indeed Jake English,"she says with a smile. This new info really lifted up his spirits and now he felt more relaxed and ready to move on with his life and new responsibilities.
Meanwhile, around the neighboring areas the young male with pointy shades stands holding onto a pole on a bus his hand over his stomach.
"Dirk really you need to eat..." another young male with blonde hair, but round shades says.
"Dave I can't...I just can't do it man. We are half and half. And it sucks that we have to atleast feed once a month," he whispers to him. The bus stops and they both get off. Dave helps Dirk with an arm around him to keep him balanced.
"Yeah I know...but you have to do it...and animal blood will only get you so far,"
"For now I can live with just animal blood,"
"Yeah sure...so what happened earlier? I saw you hunched over a bit but you looked as though you were staring at something,"
"Yeah....it was this...dude...in a black car that belonged to the Crocker family,"
"Whao...so then that boy Jane mentioned on the chats is coming?"
"Yeah apparently..." the two arrived to their home and enter it. Dirk sits on the couch and sighs. He was just exhausted.
Dave shakes his head and sits beside him.
"Look Dirk you have to get blood....just one human tonight I'm begging you man...just do it.."
"Dammit Dave I can't...." his hands clenched together as he stares dead at the floor. "Look if it will get you off me, I'll pick one human to go after and it will be the same one every month how about that?"
"Hmmmm.....fine but make sure you keep a low profile when you do bro,"
"I got this don't worry about it," he says. "I'll go ahead and head out and wait til night fully falls,"
"Are you sure? You can barley move as much,"
"Dude I'll be fine, peace," he says and leaves. Dave sighs and turns to an old photo of him and Dirk and an older male.
"Bro...Dirk is really a handful man....but so am I therefore I can't complain...but I hope he knows what he's doing,"
At Jake's new home near the beach, they have arrived and are now unloading his bags.
"Golly! This place is lovely!" Jake says with a glistening gaze as he stares out at the ocean from his bedroom balcony.
"We knew you would like it Jake. Tomorrow is the first day of school, so I'll come by to get you alright? If not me then Dirk will, he has a permit but not his license. See you tomorrow!" Jane says as she leaves the house. Jake sighs a bit and stands at his balcony. It was about to become evening.
"A small stroll along the beach should be okay," he jumps from the balcony and lands on the ground beside the steps to the porch. He removes his shoes and starts to walk. The area reminded him of home. The cool sand squeezing between his toes, and the smell of the salty sea that rode along the breeze. He took a deep breath in and sighed with satisfaction. He makes his way over to the ocean and smiles. He sits and pulls his knees up to his chest. "What a good spot..." he says to himself.
"It is isn't it?"
Jake turns fast pointing a gun to someone he saw earlier. His eyes widen as he lowers his arm.
"Whao whao easy there dude," Dirk says.
"You're..that guy I saw... earlier at the ally..." he says in a small almost whisper like tone.
"Yeah that's me...uh..dude?" He points to his gun.
"Oh..oh! Oh my gog I'm so sorry there ol' chap! I didn't mean to frighten ya like that!" He puts his gun back into his pocket and sighs.
"Dude it's okay. And i wasn't frightened more like surprised," Dirk says and sits.
"Oh..I'm sorry though...just a force of habit.."
"Really?"
"Yeah...so...um what's your name?"
"The name is Dirk. Dirk Strider,"
"Dirk?! As in...! TimaeusTestified!?"
"Huh? You know my name tag? Have we met? Online?"
"It's me! Im jake English!" Dirk stares at him and looks him up and down.
'You got to be kidding me...the first human I fucking see and it's Jake?! Really? The guy I practically started crushing on since we started talking more often three fucking years ago? Shit....'
"Holy hell...dude...." he just stared and stared. Jake laughs showing off a goofy grin and his bucked teeth. Dirk blushes behind his shades noticing his features. 'Shit...he's dorky..very...and i know that but now that I see him...he's really dorky...and.....and yet...fuck it he's cute,'
"Um Dirk?" Dirk shakes his head and looks at the tanned boy.
"Sorry just letting this meeting sink in,"
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you! I was told i would see you in school, but this is even better if I do say so myself!"
Dirk smiles a bit, but a sudden jolt of pain hits his stomach and throat as he hunches over. He keeps a hand over his mouth as he breathes heavily through his nose.
"Mate? Are you okay?" Jake asks.
"Jake..I....." Dirk heaves and pukes a bit as sweat drops down his face. He felt his fangs forming.
'Jake...please...get away from me...!'
