A month goes by and Jake is now more paranoid than ever. He feels his sanity slipping by an inch Everytime he wears the robe at the meetings or before he goes and trains with all the other hunters. He's tried to not let it all get to him, but nothing seemed to work. And he couldn't get near Dirk much at all due to his schedule changing.constantly as if they don't want him socializing at all with anyone.
Jake sits in the training room holding his pistols completely exhausted as he stares at.the floor. Something grew in him. A new found ability that he would never had imagined he would have. But it was rather difficult to use it from time to time due to his limits with it so far.
"Mr. English you have a guest," one of the assistants says. Jake nods and stands as he puts his guns away with in his holsters. He pulls up the robe and stares at it hesitantly. He knew that wearing it would cause him discomfort and loss of sanity, but if he perhaps just held it while walking around maybe he could get by. He hangs the robe over his arm and walks along the halls where guards stood lined up on both sides of him. Once they reached the doors he opens them and sees a face that just shakes him to the core. Someone he had never seen, but whoever this person was he was not someone that he wanted to know.
"Jake English I presume?" He asks. Jake stands his ground.
"Yes, that is me? Who are you? And why are you here?"
"I only need to speak with you in private if that is alright," the man in black says with a bit of sly smirk. Jake gulps and thinks within the split second he could even manage to obtain for his mind to comprehend what's going on.
"Very well, follow me. Everyone please do not follow I will speak to this man alone. Turn off all audio devices and cameras in the meeting room now," I ordered. They nodded and walked away as I led the mysterious man in black to the room. I closed the door and made sure to close all the blinds up at the windows. I locked the door and sat at the center chair at the very end of the table.
"Well this is a comfortable location," the man says with a grin revealing a set of rather sharp teeth.
"I don't particularly trust the vibes I feel off of you. This is the only thing I can imagine to do, even if I have guards I don't fully trust them either..."
"Quite a gamble you're playing. I like it. And don't worry this habitat is perfect for the both of us,"
"Is that so?"
"Now allow me to introduce myself to you, Mr. English. My name is Jack Noir. I am a private hunter. I was hired once by the hunters to exterminate special vampires around the world. Not long ago I was hired to take down a special vampire, and it turned out to be my favorite assignment," he grins.
"Hired...by my grandmother?"
"Oh no...not at all....I can be hired by anyone in the group," he says sliding his card over to Jake. The Brit looks over and picks it up. "Listen up Jacob English,"
"It's just jake..."
"Whatever the case kid, I don't play when it comes to me finding vampires to prey on, and learn of their secrets cause even as blood suckers they have incredible power and ability. Research on them is very important. But the most famous of vampires are mainly needed...not long ago someone from this group of hunters hired me to kill this man," he tosses an open folder to jake with a grin.
Jake takes the file into his hands and freezes at the name labeled on the papers. A photo lays attached to it of an older male that looked just like Dirk. It was Dirk's older brother. The one who died protecting him and Dave. Jake felt the blood in his veins run cold as he swallowed hard.
Jack stands behind him knowing that he had caught Jake into his trap. He firmly grasps his shoulders and leans to his ear.
"I know you're with the Striders. If this organization finds out, they would kill him. You don't want that to happen do you?" He asks. Jake sets the file down.
"What do you want...?" Jake asks with a quick breath.
"What I want is power," he whispers into his ear. Jake's eyes widen.
"W..why...would you want that?"
"It gives off that maddening power that anyone can crave for! The power to change even the slightest fate of anyone! That robe you hold I want! If not.....well the skulls of the Striders will hang upon my walls," he says with a laugh. Jake sits leaning back in his chair at a loss for words.
"You have...one week to make up your mind, that is if your mind is still intact by then," he says with a chuckle. He gathers his things and tilts his hat forward. "Well I will be on my way Mr. English. There's also a surprise within those papers, make sure to look carefully and be warned you are not in power here," he laughs and walks out the room only to be escorted out the building. Jake takes a deep breath and looks through the file and when he reaches the end he feels his heart shatter into pieces. Inside were pictures of him, Dirk and his friends. Pictures of Jake offering his blood to Dirk. Pictures of them at school. Jack has been watching them closely. And now he makes it his goal to ruin them for good with blackmail. Jake sets the pictures down and grasps his head.
"Gog what should I do?"
Jack stands before the building he had just visited and grins.
"Choose wisely...little English," he laughs and walks away satisfied with his latest accomplishment. Draining what little sanity Jake had left. "Whatever you choose either way I will definitely get what i want."
