The first day of school arrives, and the four online friends prepare to meet each other as a group for the first time.
Jake awakens by the sound of his alarm and the sun beaming through his windows. He sighs and gets up to stretch when he hears a 'honk!' from outside. He looks out and sees Dirks truck in his drive way. He curses realizing the time and gets dressed immediately. He grabs his book bag and runs out the door in his what would be called normal attire. He goes up to the truck and breathes.
"Dude did you seriously just get dressed within a minute?" He asks the Brit.
"What do you expect?! I woke up friggin late this morning!" He gets in the truck as Dirk drives off.
"Dude it's the first day of school, the school nor teachers will really care if you end up late. The first thing they do on the first week of school is introduce themselves and the things you will learn, and what you need for that class. This week is fine to be late. Now considering you got dressed and washed up within a minute, you must have missed breakfast,"
Jake hangs his head low and nods embardassed. Dirk pats his head. His face turns red at the sudden contact.
"Let's get you some food to take to the school," Jake slowly looks up at him his cheeks a rosy pink.
Dirk glances over from the corner of his eyes and notices the surprised look. 'Shit....that face......it's....cute...' he looks back at the road and tries to keep his cool. Meanwhile, Jake is trying to make sure his face doesn't get too red with embarrassment.
The two arrive to the school and meet with the girls at the front of the school.
"Dirky!!" A girl with blond hair, pink eyes, and a white shirt on shirt with a cat symbol on it, a pink scar and a skirt; she glomps onto the other blonde with a laugh.
"Whao whao Roxy watch out,"
"Nah. Could never do that," she looks to Jake and jumps for joy.
"Jakey?!"
"Howdy," he says shyly with a wave. She squeals and hugs him tightly.
"It is soooo good ta ciya!" She says with a smile.
"Same to you. I'm glad I finally get to meet you," he says with a smile. The blonde female smiles with joy and pulls them along.
"Come on class is going to start! And we hav classes togetha!" She shouts.
The four laugh and talk as they got to know each other more in person during their classes together. The entire time however, Dirk felt completely not at ease. Someone was watching them. Someone was watching their every move from afar. He decided to ignore it, but when it's following them even when they go home; there's no way he could ignore it anymore.
That afternoon, Dirk decided to give Jake a ride home and on their way to his house he felt the same gut feeling from before, but this time the distance was shortened. When he parked at Jake's house he made sure to look behind him through his mirrors.
"You alright ol' chap?" Jake asks. He snaps out of his cautious state and looks up at him.
"Yeah man..just still not feeling all too good is all...I'll just go home and rest,"
"Oh....." a bit of disappointment hinted in his tone as he fakes a smile. "Alright then go ahead and rest,"
"...Jake were you hoping to hang out?"
"W-well...yeah a bit i guess....but you're still I'll so..."
Dirk sighs,"It's cool Jake we can hang out tomorrow," Or atleast that's what he had hoped would happen. But nothing ever goes as planned. The two boys say their goodbyes and go their separate ways.
Jake enters his home and sighs. It was quiet and there was not much to do. He wished he could go out and explore, but as he clearly sees the town was way different than his island. Another thing on his mind, and heart was that he felt lonely. His sister nor grandma were around. Bec was also left behind. He was on his own. He sits on his bed in his room and stares at his guns that hung up on the wall. He really missed his sister and grandmother at home. He pulls out his cell and dials Jade's number.
"C'mon Jade...." he waits and waits. Finally she answers.
"Hey jake!" He sighs with a smile.
"How is everything Jade? Is grandmother okay?"
"Yup! She's resting right now thought. She's asleep, but she said if you called that she said hello," Jade says. Jake chuckles a bit.
"Tell her I said howdy and that she feels better soon,"
"Sure thing! Oh! And how's it over there in America?!" She shouts with excitement. He smiles and starts talking about his day and how he met his pen pals.
"Sounds great! I hope I can join you soon!"
"I hope so too...its really lonely without you guys over here,"
"Aw...I'm sorry Jake...well have fun okay? Dont be a stranger,"
"Yes ma'am! Heh good night silly gal,"
"Back at you mate," she giggles and hangs up. He smiles and lays back on his bed with his eyes closed. He opens them a bit and just as he does he sees a shadowy figure on his balcony, it's shadow hunched over. There was a snarl and a loud hitched hiss. He grabs a gun and slowly walks over to the curtains, but just as he takes a step another figure strikes at the back of his head knocking him unconscious.
