Alright, let's just get straight to the point here.

What the heck?! How does this book have 1k reads?! And when did this happen, I don't even remember it reaching 100! I know it's been a while as well, but I really wanted to get this up and it took longer than anticipated.

I'm so thankful, you guys are the best! Seriously, I wanted to do something in return, so here's something just for you guys!

Sorry for any boys reading this, I wrote this as if you were a girl.

You glared at the poster taped up in front of you. The poster inviting every student in your year to the biggest school-held party of them all: prom. In any other circumstance, you would have been ecstatic. But in the position you were in, nothing could be worse.

To put it simply, you were known as the 'preppy princess' in your year, basically meaning that most of the boys liked trying to hit on you and all of the girls respected you and felt your pain. Whilst you were seriously considering ripping the poster off the wall, something in the corner of your eye caught your attention.

Why am I always hit on by the boys I never like?
I always see them coming from the left and from the right.

"Hey there, girl," a smooth, deep voice said next to you. "I see you're looking at a prom poster."

"I'm not interested," you responded, getting straight to the point. You looked up at the taller, mature boy beside you and met his determined gaze with a one of your own.

"Why not, princess? You'd enjoy it," he smirked.

"I'm not anyone's princess," you retorted. "And even if I was, I wouldn't be yours, Joshua." You pushed him slightly and tried to walk off, only to be stopped.

"If you ever need saving, princess, you know who to call!"

"I'm sorry, but I won't ever need anything from you. Drop it."

I don't wanna be a priss, I'm just trying to be polite.
But it always seems to bite me in the...

The short walk from that point to your locker went undisturbed, but whilst you were sorting yourself out...

"Sure you don't want to get together?" That mothertrucker.

"I'm sure and I always will be sure," you snapped.

"Can I at least have your number?" Josh tried. "We really should hook up sometime, you know."

"I know we shouldn't," you replied, "And I have a number of things I want to say to you if you don't go away, and trust me, you won't like them." He scowled, muttering something as he walked away.

Ask me for my number, yeah, you put me on the spot.
You think that we should hook up but I think that we should not.

After two horrible lessons of avoiding boys' flirty gazes, you found yourself back at your locker, retrieving some revision notes. Next thing you know another boy is standing next to you; he's a bit shorter than you this time, with dirty blond hair and blue eyes.

"Hey," he greeted. On the inside you were thoroughly surprised that he hadn't tried to hit on you already, although on the outside you kept your cool stance.

"Hey." You shut your locker door, about to head off towards your next class when he started talking again.

"You know what's on the menu at prom?" he asked. "...Me n' you." Your entire mood just dropped back to it's annoyed state at his overused pick up line.
