Chapter 17

His lips tingled, he could still feel the warmth of her lips, it was unnerving, this kiss made him vulnerable, that's a first for Edward Blue Moon. He couldn't focus on the kiss, there were more pressing matters at hand, at least that's exactly what the border control reported.

"Here Alpha. ", Shawn his trusted beta called out. Shawn was a man of few words,  dependable, and efficient.

He took a hard look at the message roughly inscribed on the bark of the tree

You will loose her again , if you come after us

It was not rocket science to determine who the "her" in question was, but his anger levels just spiked up, and with a deep growl he finally announced

"I don't care what it takes, but if its the last thing I do, I will hunt every person responsible for Olivia, and threatening Mia."

Shawn and the patrol kneeled in front of him and said  "Yes Alpha."

"Find them Shawn." With that he moved closer to his home, he had to explain to Mia a whole lot of things, perhaps it was better for her to move back to KindHeart once again. She will be protected. His wolf bristled 

Its not even a day and you want to send her home, she won't survive another rejection.

I'm not rejecting her.

Try to explain that to her human mind. She  is not weak just because she doesn't have a wolf.

I didn't say she was.

Oh please, for a moment even you considered it assuming that she probably has abysmal defense skills.

All the more she needs to go back to KindHeart.

She is intelligent, I assure you , if we are ever under attack, she would be able to keep our pack safe.

How do you know?

I just know. And besides if you send her to KindHeart, I will mark her.

Edward decided just then, Mia would definitely not return to KindHeart territory, at least  not until his wolf feels otherwise. Sometimes he wished, he would have met her in a slightly different circumstance, not when he went all wolfy over her pathetic ex-mate Michael.  He suddenly remembered that Mia disrupted their fight because she did not want Michael to be blind, this  did not settle well with him. He used his werewolf speed to find Mia taking out trash bags. 

He took away the bags from her, and said gruffly "You don't have to do that." then turned and put them away in trash cans. As he washed his hands, Mia could sense that Edward was deeply troubled, his eye brows furrowed, it seemed like his wolf could not be contained, to break the tension in the room she said 

"Ed I would like work in the pack hospice"

"Umm. Are you sure?",  He definitely liked the fact that the hospice was in a fortified part of pack. There was virtually 24x7 security round the clock. It would take one hell of army to actually reach it.

"Is that going to be a issue?" She looked unsure, as Ed's reaction significantly lightened, he was actually smiling to himself, and she had no idea why.

"Yeah its perfect. Its good you have warmed up to the pack so soon. " She felt guilty, and a bit depressed because once Ed's treatment would finish , it would be time to say goodbye to the pack. Her smile went down two notches. Edward quickly reached towards her and looked deeply into her eyes and said , " You don't need to join just right now, you can do it later."

His eyes were so gentle, and he looked at her so tenderly , that she couldn't help herself and threw her arms around him, and gave him a super tight bear hug. He responded immediately  by coddling her closer, it was almost like he drew warmth from her, and rocked her gently and he finally said

" Mia , I don't care about your relationship with Michael. I don't need to know the details ever. I'm just glad that you accepted me despite my reputation, my murderous temper, my flaws. I promise you one thing, I will be there for you no matter what. Just promise me something?"

Mia was startled, this was the first time Edward actually spoke to her in  more than one sentence, but his words soothed her heart, so she happily nodded  "What?"

"Don't leave me ever," There he let out his vulnerability , out in platter for her to see. She responded with a loving kiss, his emotions were all over the place, and he responded with a brutal kiss , heck it was demanding and possessive. He knew Mia would be there for him, even if the odds were against him.Mia Kindheart was definitely his mate, the crazy mate who would just promise to be with him with his utter stupidity, block headedness, raging temper, and sharp tongue. 

The future suddenly seemed bright, and Mia was his. His forever.
