Chapter written by: Merry and Pippin

Merry and Pippin had just jumped out of their hiding place to help Frodo. But just as they did, Frodo told them the sickening news that he was leaving... alone to Mordor. Lots of orcs had spotted Merry and Pippin out in the open, and Merry decided to lure the orc pack away from Frodo so he could get away safely.

They kept running while about twenty to thirty orcs chased after them with hast. Sharp swords in hand with their ugly faces with a white hand printed on them. Merry kept yelling to Pippin,

"Don't look back!"

Pippin still decided too after the warning though. They slowed down once they saw Boromir.

Pippin: Merry just left the room to get food so I must tell you, Frodo, why I looked back...I just had to! The orcs were coming for us! I didn't know how far back they were. Oh no, Merry's coming back now. With biscuits at least. Sorry, on with the story.

"They're coming! Too many orcs!" Merry shouted to Boromir as both of them scurried to a stop behind him like kids behind their mother.

Boromir nodded quickly and blew his Gondor horn. It was all white with a golden tip and golden middle. It had silver lining the golden parts in different twisty patterns and it curved into an arc that pointed to the sky.

"What's that do?" Pippin questioned after Boromir stopped blowing his horn.

Without looking towards the hobbits and keeping his eyes on the coming orc pack, he said,

"There are way too many orcs and I will need some help fighting them off. Aragorn should know to come to me by the sound of this horn since he claims he is heir to Gondor's thrown,"

The orcs were now upon them and Boromir fought as best he could. Slashing a body, chopping off their ugly heads, and even tackling some to the ground if he had to. Merry and Pippin just stood there awkwardly watching. After a moment, Merry looked to the ground and picked up a handful of rocks. Pippin got the message and did the same. They started throwing them as the orcs tried surrounding Boromir.

Pippin: Actually, I picked up the rocks first.

Merry: You did not! It was me, Frodo.

They soon found out that it had been a horrible idea because the orcs started coming for them again.

Pippin: Oh Ya! Frodo, it actually was Merry's idea! Bad one at that.

Merry: I'm kinda remembering that it was Pip's idea now! Pretty sure it was his bad idea.

Pippin dodged a hard sword coming down for him and lingered behind a very tall, but skinny. Then he jumped out from the other side of the tree and leaped on an orc from behind. Merry jumped on the same orc from the front and they eventually brought the creature down with the swords Galadriel had given them.

As the orc fell, it landed straight on Pippin. Merry managed to pull him out using all his might just as Aragorn stood in front of them and blocked another orc. The hobbits scrambled to their feet and watched awkwardly again backing far away from the battle taking place.

A second later, Gimli and Legolas came running in from behind a tall boulder. Gimli ran to Aragorn's side and started slashing his mighty axe at the coming orcs. Legolas climbed a small hill. He then started firing his bow and hitting the orcs with perfect aim. One by one the orcs fell faster and faster.

All of a sudden from atop another small hill stood the leader of the Isengard orc pack. Lurtz. He had tough armor on it looked like from were Merry and Pippin were. Aragorn saw him next and started pushing his way toward the hill Lurtz stood on. He could tell he was the leader and he should take out him first. Aragorn noticed that he had a bow and a quizzer of arrows, so he knew he had to be careful.

Merry and Pippin stood at the bottom of hill where Legolas was shooting from. They knew they would be safe there.

"Where's Sam?" asked Merry.

"Don't know," Pippin responded suddenly remembering his sudden disappearance, "Hopefully he is all right,"

"He's a bright lad. I'm sure he is fine. Just like me and you... and Frodo I hope," Merry said and gave a quick smile to Pippin.

After that, their attention went straight back to the battle they were stuck in.

Pippin: Sorry Frodo. You won't be in the rest of the chapters because you left.

Merry: Keep reading though, Frodo. We hope you are enjoying this book.

A/N: What do you think? Do you like Merry and Pippin's notes? I think they are funny. I also like how When the reader reads this, they feel like they are Frodo reading Merry and Pippin's book. At least thats how i feel when i read it over again. :-)
