Chapter by: Merry and Pippin
Aragorn rushed to Lurtz now. He knew it was best to take him out now instead of waiting any longer. He didn't want anybody to get killed by this archer. As he lingered closer, Lurtz spotted him and took a shot at Aragorn with his bow. Aragorn jumped out of the way just in time. The arrow shot down almost hitting his forehead. Lurtz let another arrow fly again, but this time Aragorn sent the arrow flying the opposite way with his sword.
Aragorn was too close for shooting arrows at now, so Lurtz dropped his bow and swung out his enormous pointy sword. Lurtz started swinging his sword at Aragorn as soon as they were close enough to each other. Aragorn was a good fighter and reflected every single shot of the sword away from him.
Gimli had joined Boromir's side and Legolas had jumped down from the small hill and started attacking with his swords. He drew two of them out from his belt and started slashing them at the coming orcs. Merry and Pippin started taking down orcs together until Boromir shouted to them and told them to hide. He told them the orcs were only looking for the Halflings. They were looking for the ring.
So Merry and Pippin took shelter inside of some overgrown thorn bushes. Behind the bushes was a boulder, so nobody could sneak up on them. They hoped...
Merry: By thorn bushes we mean nasty thorn bushes. They were really prickly. I got lots couple stuck in my feet. And boy did that not feel so well.
Pippin: Yah, I remember getting thorns stuck in my hands and also my feet. But it wasn't my idea to go into the bushes...
Merry: Well, this time it actually was my idea. But never mind that, on to the story.
From their perspective of the battle now, they could see all their friends fighting and Merry felt guilty to be just sitting around watching all of it instead of helping out.
Pippin: Merry just ran off again. This time to get tea. So this is what I wanted to say: Don't think I wasn't guilty, Frodo. I was just busy pulling out those nasty thorns out of my feet and hands from the bush we were hiding in. Merry is coming now, on with the story.
Soon Boromir, Gimli, and Legolas had fought off all of the orcs successfully.
"Aragorn!" yelled Legolas. Gimli echoed his name after Legolas. Merry and pippin slowly got out of the bush. Ouch! Those darn thorns! Merry pulled the remaining thorns out of his feet as Pippin pulled some out of his hands and then his hair.
"When I said to hide, I didn't mean in a thorn bush," Boromir said to Merry and Pippin sarcastically.
Merry ignored the comment and pointed to where Aragorn was up top of the hill were Lurtz and him had been fighting. Then everybody went up the hill to help Aragorn. Only to find that he did not need any help. Aragorn sliced Lurtz's head off clean and then the body fell to the ground with a thump. Merry and Pippin made a face of disgust at the sight of it.
Aragorn looked badly bruised, had blood dripping down his face, and his clothes where torn in some areas, but he ignored it as he usually did and said nothing.
"And where is our ring bearer and his bodyguard?" Boromir asked quietly.
"Gone. Sent him away," Aragorn said staring at Boromir intently.
"Looks like we failed then," Boromir stated rather grumpily pulling his hands up and crossed them over his chest.
"We could go after them," said Legolas to nobody in particular.
Merry and Pippin nodded soon after he said that.
"I guess that's the only thing we can do," said Boromir, "Let's go then,"
They all agreed that they would go after Frodo and Sam, and then they left. Going towards the river again.
