|Chapter Twelve: The Very First Morning.|
Olivia.
The following morning Olivia woke up to the sound of her alarm clock blaring. She was so deep in sleep that the sudden sound woke her with a fright. She rolled over onto her side and let out a loud scream of surprise as she lost her balance and teetered off the edge of her mattress. She fell with a loud “THUD!” as a groan escaped her lips. Her hip was definitely going to feel bruised tomorrow.
Landyn—no, excuse her—Reid, let out an exhausted moan as he rolled onto his side and glared down at her through sleepy eyes. “Shut that damn thing off.” He muttered as he tried—and failed—to stretch out his arm to her side of the room in the hopes of silencing her alarm. He let out another moan of annoyance as he shoved a pillow over his ears. “Shut it off!”
Olivia reached up her hand from her sprawled out position and miserably tried to hit the snooze button. After many failed attempts her slender fingers finally landed on the snooze button. Reid had finally stopped rolling around uncomfortably and knocked back out, a pillow still over his face.
Olivia moved herself to a sitting position and stopped to admire Reid’s sleeping figure. He was lying on his back, a foot sticking out from beneath his black comforter, one arm dangling off the edge of his bed, a pillow covering half of his face, and his lips slightly parted as he took in deep sleepy breaths. His hair was sticking up every which way and his cheeks were slightly rosy from the warmth of his bed and yet he still managed to look like an Adonis-incarnate.
She let out a dreamy sigh. He just looked so cute!
She had no idea how she was supposed to pose as a straight guy at an all-boys school when she had a roommate like Reid. He was too gorgeous to be able to resist. With his straight brown hair, demure grey-green eyes, and deadly pouty—not to mention, irresistibly kissable lips. Yes, pretending to be a straight guy when she was really a straight girl was going to prove very difficult.
She pushed herself off of the floor and gathered her belongings for the bathroom. She took a shower and did her regular morning routine (minus the makeup!), but what proved to be difficult was getting her fake junk to land in the right place. She was struggling to put the balled up socks in the right place in her boxer briefs when Reid waltzed into the bathroom—without knocking—totally shirtless. She tried not to stare too much…
Reid stopped in the doorway and stared at Olivia passively for a moment as she kept her hand awkwardly down her pants. His lips twitched into a smile as he turned toward the sink and turned the faucet on. “Hasn’t anyone ever told you that it’s more comfortable to wank off with your pants off?”
Olivia blushed as she extracted her hand out her unbuttoned skinny jeans dangling off her slim hips and exposing her dinosaur covered boxer briefs. “I wasn’t ‘wanking off;’ I was adjusting!” With every word, her face grew warmer.
Reid let out a chuckle. “Could’ve fooled me.”
Olivia frowned at him as she buttoned and zipped her pants, leaving her uniform white Oxford shirt untucked. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re a bit of a jerk?”
Reid was brushing his teeth, but answered anyway with a nonchalant shrug. “Yeah, but who cares? It’s a personality flaw, everyone has one of those.”
Olivia glowered at him as she looped her tie around her upturned collar. “Whatever.”
She put the two ends of her burgundy, gold, and dark blue tie in her hands and stared at them for a moment. She had never tied a tie before, she had no reason to. While Tanner had told her that she probably wouldn’t have to wear it, therefore he didn’t have to teach her how to tie one (although she was pretty sure the reason he hadn’t taught her was because he didn’t know how), she wanted to. She looped the ends together, but realized that wasn’t right. She tried twisting them together, but that wasn’t right either.
