|Chapter Thirteen: If He Found Out…|
Olivia.
Throughout the first week of her classes Olivia had it pretty good. Cash was in almost all of her classes, therefore it was much easier to keep a wary eye on him. So far he had proved that he was no threat to her and that he planned on keeping her secret despite his protests. She couldn’t be more grateful.
She got along well with the rest of the guys. Dallas was still as loud and excitable as ever, Walker the biggest pervert she’d ever met, and Julian was stoic, quiet; she couldn’t help but wonder how he had made friends with this band of misfits.
The only one she didn’t seem to get along with was Reid. So far he had called her names, such as dork, nerd, loser, and smarty-pants, and he made it a point to make fun of the way she wore her uniform every morning (even though she had been complimented numerous times), and had tried to prank her and annoy her any chance he got.
One time she returned to their dorm she entered through the door, only to be greeted with a shot from a Super Soaker and getting drenched by Reid. Another time he had set her alarm clock for the wrong time and caused her to be late. And last night he had placed her hand in a warm cup of water in the hopes of making her pee her pants.
Somehow it wasn’t effective, and both of them were confused for a moment; more Reid than her though. After their confusion (and Reid’s disappointment) had passed Olivia ripped him a new one. He had only laughed and called her cute.
Throughout the week she couldn’t help but question Reid’s sexuality. On this particular morning though, she couldn’t stop thinking about it. The question burned at the back of her mind, constantly nagging and disrupting the rest of her thoughts.
He kept calling her cute and continued flirting with her. She remembered he had warned her not to hit on him if she were gay (since she was a “boy”), but now she was beginning to think that maybe he was deep in the closet or something. She didn’t want to sound arrogant or pompous or anything, but maybe there was something about her (the male version of herself anyway) that made him comfortable with his sexuality—made him felt free, or maybe he didn’t even realize he was doing it when he was trying to hide it.
It was disappointing since she thought he was absolutely gorgeous and wanted nothing more than to jump his bones when he was shirtless—no matter how obnoxious she thought he was. Her crush on him was merely based on a physical attraction to him.
However, her second and most horrifying thought was that he somehow knew; somehow found out that she was a girl. She had momentarily internally panicked. How had he found out? What had she done for him to be able to find out? Was she being too obvious; not careful enough?—No. She knew she was careful. Like really, really careful, but she couldn’t help but doubt that she hadn’t been as careful as she thought. So she did the most logical thing she could think of: she asked Cash.
She stood outside of Cash’s dorm after her classes were over and she was changed into comfortable clothes. She wore dark blue skinny jeans, a thick grey wool sweater that had exaggeratingly long sleeves that went past her hands that stopped just past her mid-thigh; as well as grey Uggs (or as Julian liked to call them “Muggs” since he wore them too and wanted it a smidge more manly sounding). She raised her hand to knock on the door, but it swung open revealing Walker.
He turned, the door halfway open behind him and his hand on the doorknob, with confusion plastered on his face. “Hey Little Man,” “Little Man” had become one of her many nicknames. They called her that because of her…lack of height as a “man.” “What are you doing here?”
