Chapter I : New school, new life !

Astrid's POV

"Alright Sweetie ! Are you ready ?" Asked mom in a soft tone.
"I'm coming !" I said, running down two steps at once.
"Thank God ! You don't wanna be late for the first day at school." 
"Yeah yeah whatever..." I just shrugged her off.

Hey, name is Astrid Hofferson (but you can call me Aster or Asty if you want) and this is my first day at my new high school. My mom and I had to move because of some...Things. So I had to transfer all my credits to this new school, but nevertheless, it's my last year in high school, so needless to say that I'm planning to have any friends.

New school, new life...here I go. I took a deep breath, and snatched an apple from the counter and made my way out the door, getting to the car where mom's waiting.

I was switching between Facebook and Instagram and Twitter to see what's new. I really wasn't that excited about the new school.

Finally, we were there, at Berkeley's high school.

- Mom ! Stop pinching my cheeks ! You're embarrassing me.
- Ok ok. And luckily she left.

I pushed the cold iron door and slammed it shut and made my way to the main building to finish the registration and get my schedule.
I was carrying too many books and I was hugging them tight. I was thinking about what to do and how I will spend my day when PAFF !!.... Something or someone hit me and made me fall to the ground with all my books everywhere.

I can see creepy smiles and laughter on the other students' faces. Whoever made me look like a fool is so gonna get it !

I gathered my books and put them on my left hand and fisted the free one and then.....I saw HIM !! The one who made me fall ! He was a tall guy with auburn brown messy hair and green forest eyes and....Wait ! Why do I look closely at him, I really should stop doing that !

I stood there my mouth open and my eyes kept widening until...A girl as tall as me ( I should really get rid of that habit ! ) Came and kissed his cheek. She looks like a silicone barbie doll with seven pounds of makeup on her face and her short skirt. And she left. However, he looked disgusted and rubbed his cheek to wipe it.

After that, he handed me his hand and lifted me as if I was a feather ! OMG I can clearly see the veins out of his muscles. Wow ! First crush, and already got heartbroken. I mean I should have known he had a girlfriend, I mean look at him, his eyes , his hair, his freckles, his ab......wait what am I saying. Gosh I better stop before I say any of this out loud.

I suddenly forgot about the whole 'so gonna get it' thing and handed him my hand to shake it.
- Hi ! I'm Astrid.
And the stupid bell rang and he's out of sight.

Weird...

Anyway back to my routine. I was walking to the principals office and grabbed my schedule, and locker number. I went to my locker, put my unneeded books away, and continued walking to my next class....Maths. Great way to start the first day of school right ? (note the sarcasm).

I knocked on the door of the class, but when no one seemed to open I just walked in. And then I saw this......a class that looks more like a zoo. Guys playing spit ball fight. Girls all sitting in one corner chatting... Blah. And then I saw......HIM again. He is sitting in the opposite corner to the girls. He was just sitting there reading a book !!! Didn't expect that. I squint my eyes to see the book I think the title was How to train your DRA....that's it I couldn't read more. When I came back to reality I was standing next to the door while in front of me was a bunch of apes. So I just closed the door and looked for a seat. Luckily for me, no one noticed me so....yay..less awkwardness.

Great !! That's it !! I got detention on the first school day, but at least I'm not alone, I'm with him. I was caught by our who-the-hell-cares teacher and we got detention for two hours. This isn't my fault that the stupid bell rang before he tell me his name. I tried to speak to him and everything that I heard was "Astrid and Hayden ! To the principal's office now !".

Finally, I knew his name !
