Chapter VII : Confused

Astrid's POV

*next morning*

I woke up the next morning with two strong arms wrapped around my waist. I Blushed at the fact that me and Hayden had fallen asleep on the couch together. But then frowned realising what he said yesterday.

" I wanted her to leave me alone. And that doesn't mean you're my girlfriend though " It keeps replaying I my head over and over and the more I think of it, the more it makes me feel bad.

Well maybe it's because he doesn't know me that well yet. Then boom ! An idea popped into my head, ' Why don't I cook him breakfast, to show how good my cooking skills are ? '. But when you look at it from another stand point, I don't have any cooking skills.

Great ! I am a 18 years old weirdo who can't even cook a simple breakfast. I can't give up, not now. So I ruffled my body from his warm, soft embrace.

Then, I made my way to the kitchen. So what should I cook huh ? Maybe some blueberry waffles ? No, I didn't learn the recipe yet. How about scrambled eggs ? Ya that's the best option. So I took out a new pan with my left hand and with my write I took five eggs form the fridge. Unfortunately, my hands aren't as big as Hayden's so I couldn't hold everything by one grip. I was walking slowly to the counter, and by my sudden unluckiness, I slipped on a wet mop, and

- Ayye !! I yelled as I fell down to the floor. In addition to that, all the eggs have fallen in different directions and the pan had fell with a loud BAM making Hayden wake up unalarmed.

- What's happening ?..Astrid is that you ? He more like yelled from the living room. I can even see the worry in his voice. But since I was in a lot of pain, I didn't have the courage to say a word. So I just remained there on the floor. I think he started to panic, cause I heard heavy footsteps running my way to the kitchen.

- Astrid ! He practically yelled this time. He finally reached the and looked at me with worry all over his face. But that emotion suddenly changed as looked at me from head to toe.

I think he got the idea, that I was trying to prepare him something for breakfast. So he just laughed...

He landed me his hand, to lift me, but when I got closer to him, he grabbed my waist and said
- What were you doing here, you know we don't have school today ?! He said smirking.
- I was trying to prepare you something for breakfast. I said painfully.

And at these words, he kissed my cheek and carried me to the living room and dropped me on the couch gently. At the moment, I was still shocked at what he did.
- I'll be in charge of breakfast, you go to rest. And he went to the kitchen.

He's so cute !!

Hiccup's POV

Good thing I heard her ! I can prepare her what she wants !

I opened the fridge, looked quickly and grabbed the needed ingredients. Nothing is easier than preparing some blueberry waffles !

*Ten minutes later*

- Astrid !...... Astrid !? Where are you ? I yelled seeking for an answer but no reply.
I took the two plates and went to the living room where I put her.

I knew it ! She fell asleep ! So I passed the dish under her nose back and forth. She smiled and woke up, surprised.

- Oh Hiccup ! Thank you ! How did you know ? Yelling more than speaking.
- You really need to learn how to whisper m'lady !

She just blushed, she's so beautiful !

Astrid's POV

He led me to the kitchen, my back is still aching from the fall earlier. It will heal soon. We sat to the kitchen table, facing each other. I take a bite then I look at him awkwardly. I decided not to speak, but I had some questions that need answers, so I opened my mouth...
- Hiccup ?
- Yeah ?
- I don't mean to remind you but when is your birthday ?
- It's on the 24th.

OMG !! His birthday is in three days and I didn't prepare anything ! What should I do ?

- Great ! How old are you ?
- Soon I'll be 19.
Thank God he's bigger than me.

*After breakfast*

- Ok I should go home. I got a lot of homework to do.
- And you're leaving me alone ! Please don't leave, we can do it together if you like. And I showed him my cutest puppy eyes.
- You're gonna help me ? With homework ? Really funny. And he burst in laughter.
- Please ! Almost crying.
- Ok ok I'll go get my books from home and be back quickly. Satisfied now ?
- YAY !
And he left. I went upstairs to brush my hair and change my clothes. I look like I'm having a date, not studying.

It has been about 15 minutes and Hayden's not back yet. I'll go check on him.

I just was spying on him again.

I looked at him, opening the door of his house. I got closer and closer 'til I heard him saying
- Hello ! I'm back !
I was laying my back at the door, not letting him to see me.
- You said 'Hello' to who exactly ? And he stood there, shocked.
