Chapter IX : Unexpected surprise

Astrid's POV

I woke up with the sound of my annoying alarm playing the most annoying song ever !! " Work Work Work Work... ". ( Lol used the word 'annoying' twice :) ) I stood up and took a shower, and wore my usual blue blouse, with black denim jeans, and white converse shoes. I made my hair in its usual side braid and snatched my bag and went downstairs for breakfast. I quickly ate my breakfast, PB & J sandwich. My favorite ! Cause today me and the gang are gonna prepare the house for Hiccup's surprise party, but we have to make sure he doesn't get suspicious.

Not to waste any time, I was planning the surprise as I was going to school. So I wouldn't have any trouble as I tell the gang about this. This is the first time I want to go to school without Hayden.

*At school*

I was walking peacefully, until a monster burst up in front of me. I rolled my eyes, it was Tuffnut. Isn't it enough that he made me late for school yesterday !
- Please let me guess, you're hiding from your sister ? And what's that on your face ? I asked nervously ( again :p ).
- How did you guess ? Awesome, but can you hide me please ? Yeah and this face paint, for the party you know. He said looking at me with puppy eyes.
- It's a birthday party, not Halloween. I said smirking.
- TUFFNUT !! And his sister came looking for him. Great !
I just pulled myself out of the fight, not caring for nothing they do.

I was looking for Fishlegs, at least he's not dumb. He can really help me with that. So I grabbed my phone.

( A : Astrid - F : Fishlegs )

A : Hey....Where r u ?
F : Right behind you.

- Oh hi Fishlegs ! Sorry. I said shyly.
- It's ok. So why did you text me ?
- I need your help. Come get Snoutlout and I'll get the twins.

After that we are all here, I said
- Alright, we should prepare Hiccup's house for tomorrow. After school, you get there and I'll catch up with you later, ok ?
- Why don't you just come up with us ? Asked Snoutlout.
- cause I need to hold Hayden until you're done ?
- But how exactly ? Asked Tuffnut.
- He will stay in my house, and probably, he'll stay there for the night. And I looked at the others, they were all staring at me. Fortunately, the bell rang and I left but the problem is... Hayden isn't here yet !

Where could he be ? I looked for him everywhere in the school, he's nowhere to be found.

- Hey Snoutlout, have you seen Hayden ? I asked anxiously
- No, sorry. And he closed his locker and left.
Suddenly an Idea crossed my mind : Hayden always want to stay besides the tree, in the yard........He's not there.

I came back to class after the break. I spent the hole day alone, well most of the day. I don't know why but I seem like I pay attention to the lessons today, maybe Hiccup needs help with them.

*After school*

We were in front of the gate
- Well guys, I'll go first and make sure that Hayden's not in the house. Agreed ?
- Yeah whatever... Snoutlout didn't look worried about his 'cousin', I can't believe that these two are cousins. They don't have anything in common.

I ran to Hayden's house, it's getting darker.

I knocked the door, noticing that the lights are off, no reply. And before I leave, the door opened. O..M..G.. Hiccup was all covered with scars and bruises. And he fell and I caught him quickly. Toothless looked also as worried as me.
- Hiccup what happened ? I yelled at him.
- Nothing. He looked like he don't wanna say anything so I tried to walk him to my house. It was hard to carry him but we're there.

I helped him to get upstairs to my room and laid him on my bed.
- Thank you Astrid. And he passed out. His state doesn't need medical help, I can take care of him myself.

I texted the others and told them to move on on our plan, without me.

I prepared him some ointments and pills, also a cup of hot tea and a towel, when he wake up.

It was almost midnight, the others might have finished the work. But Hiccup didn't wake up yet. I hadn't any other choices, I can't leave him alone, so I slept next to him. In case he needed me. I was starting at him, 'til sleep took me over...
