Chapter VIII : Like a hot nerd !

Astrid's POV

I was still standing there, Hiccup in conjunction to me. Still waiting for an answer.

- H-Hey Astrid, what brought you up here ?
- Answer my question first. With a monotone voice, glaring at him. Eventually, he turned to see me.... Scratching the back of his neck.
- Last time I didn't err... Introduce you to my cat. Sorry for that.
- You have a cat ? Why didn't you tell me ? I shriek.
- You were sick and tired so I didn't tell you about it.
- And where is she ?
- She is a he. And he whistled so high. Toothless ! Come out !
- Toothless !?! What a name ! I said smirking.
And a black, green-eyed cat jumped from behind the couch, over Hiccup, licking his face.
- Oh he's so cute ! I feel like I meant Hiccup not the cat.
- Can we move on now to study. And he grabbed his glasses and wore them. Looking exactly like a hot nerd !

Luckily, Hiccup accepted my beggi...My desire and let Toothless come with us.

*Few minutes later*

Hiccup's POV

- C'mon Astrid, it's easy. I said almost yelling.
- Alright, let me read it again loudly. I cleared my throat. " A monkey, a bear and a tiger fought for hours on the top of a banana tree for a coconut. Who got the banana ? " It can't be easier huh ?
- You do realize that it's a banana tree right ?

Then she slapped her forehead with her wrist
- How couldn't I see it ?
- No wonder you wanted me to stay with you !

Astrid's POV

And we studied 'til the sun went down. Hiccup isn't only strong, he's also genius. But that's not enough. I need to know him more, after his surprising birthday party. Yeah, I'm planning for a surprising party for Hiccup. Can't wait to see the expression on his face. It's gonna be awesome, the others will be here too.

*At night*

Hiccup took his bag, his jacket on his shoulder and
- Good night Astrid ! Come on Toothless, let's go. And the little cat jumped on his head making him fall down. I didn't hear him saying 'good night' but I am sure that I heard the loud sound of him falling. I went downstairs to see what happened and I burst in laughter.

- Thanks for nothing, you useless reptile. He said trying to stand up.
- You do realize that he's a mammal, right ? Said smirking.
- Oh ! Someone have been paying attention ! He said surprisingly. *Sigh* I was paying attention to him not to the lesson.

He made his way to the door, slamming it shut behind him. Leaving me alone.

- Loneliness ! Great ! I said sighing.

*Later*

I grabbed my phone to call the others. Maybe they forgot about Hiccup's birthday. I dialed Fishlegs' number and waited.
- Hello, hi Fishlegs !
- Oh hi Astrid ! How are you ?
- Fine fine. I just called you to remi...
- To remind me of Hiccup's birthday ! You know that this is the eighth time you tell me that in just one day !
- Ok ok just don't forget t..... And he hang up.

I really need to stop calling them or I'll find myself hang on the wall.

It's getting late so I went to bed and tried to sleep. As usual I'll be dreaming about him, again.

*The next morning*

Hiccup's POV

I woke up, heavily. Sun is shining from behind the clouds, and Toothless was sleeping next to me. I rose my head to look at the calendar, my birthday is in two days, hope dad get back home soon.

After jogging, I prepared breakfast and ate quickly and went to school.

I decided to pass by Astrid so that we can go to school together. I stretched my hand to knock the door but it suddenly opened, and Astrid showed up. She was a total mess.
- Do you sleep next to the door ? I said surprisingly. And she just yawned.
- It's getting late hurry up ! I said rising my voice a bit.
- Ok I'll be back in a minute. She replied. She made her way to her room, limping. Probably she didn't sleep well yesterday. And she disappeared into the house then got back in about ten minutes.

We were walking silently, but she seemed to think about something, something was irritating her. Probably nothing.

Astrid's POV

*At school*

When I got to school I got separated from Hiccup somehow. The first person I saw was Ruffnut !? Ok it's not like I hate her or something, it's just this is the first time I see her without her twin brother.
- Oh Astrid hey it's good to see you. She said nervously ( Not sure if that's a word '-' )
- Where's Tuffnut? I asked getting straight to the point.
- Well I am kinda running away from him right now...so....She said.
- What did you do this time !? I asked more like yelled. Seriously there is not one day where the twins can live in harmony. Even after death.
- Well I kinda mixed my red shorts with his white T-shirt in the washing machine... So he's wearing pink today. She said as she flashed me an innocent smile. I mentally face palmed myself. Well that was something. But then I remembered what I actually came here for so I grabbed her hand, and before she could protest, I brought us to the closest classroom and texted Fishlegs.

( A : Astrid - F : Fishlegs )

A : Fishlegs come ASAP with Tuffnut and Snotlout. To room 104 B make sure Hiccup doesn't see you.

F : k we'll be right there

A : Great :)

- Great they're on their way. I said to a confused Ruffnut.
- What are they coming for. She asked oblivious of what's going on.
- We are organizing a surp-. Before I could finnish the voice of a mad Tuffnut cut me off.
- You !! He said while pointing at Ruffnut.
- Me ? She said acting like she just came from heaven with a halo.

- You shouldn't have done that. Thanks to YOU I spent my whole gym class helping cheerleaders with handing out pompoms instead of playing football !!!! He practically yelled at her emphasizing the word 'you'. She just flashed at fake smile and chuckled at her twin who was embarrassed wearing a pink shirt.
- Ok guys we are going off topic. I said trying to make them remember what we actually came here for.
- Now would some one kindly explain me what the hell I am here for !? Snotlout spoke up. I gave him a glare and started to explain.
- As I said before Hiccup's birthday is in two days, and we are going to plan a surprising birthday party for him. Ok ? I asked them to make sure everyone's on the same page. But as I look at their reactions, I don't think we are even on the same book. So I face palmed myself again and tried to tell them in a more easy dumd way.
- Hayden, birthday, surprise. I said in the most dumb way ever. Then everyone started to smile and nod. Thank God !!! I thought I was going to explain them 'til the bell would ring. Wait....bell...bell...BELL ! OMG the bell rang like 10 minutes ago. Ahhh we'll be late. Great ! ( Note the sarcasm :) )

Guys we have to go now or we'll be late !!!! I shrieked at them. They all nodded and we started to run to class which by the way was on the other side of this building. What on God's name did I ever do to deserve this ?
