Chapter XIII : I don't believe in luck

Hiccup's POV

It was about 7 in the morning when I woke up. 

I felt something warm stiffening next to me and, as I regained my eye sight back I found myself in my bed, with Astrid. She looked much like sleeping beauty with her blond hair down in a beatiful mess and her face looked almost angelic. I preferred not to wake her up, and instead make her some breakfast. Before I got out of bed, I gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and then exited the room. 

Honestly speaking though there has been something bothering me since yesterday. I wanna ask her out, and tell her something more like ask her something, but I never found the courage to.

With that I made my way to the kitchen to whip us something to eat, waffles would be perfect with some chocolate syrup on top. I mean who doesn't like chocolate ! I know I don't.

*Few minutes later*

"Hiccup ! Are you here ?!" I heard Astrid yelling from upstairs.
"Yeah I'm down here, now come down before your waffles get cold !!!" I yelled back. After a couple of seconds later she was right next to me.
- Good morning sleeping beauty ! Did you sleep well ? I asked placing our waffles on the breakfast table.
- It was a good one, I felt like I was on cloud nine ! She replied yawning.
- Good ! Now let's have breakfast before I starve to death. I said placing my hands on my stomach.

We sat down to eat, even though we didn't eat much, we were instead talking about our plans for the winter holidays. And I find it the best time to ask her.

- Astrid ? I said looking at her with firmness in my voice.
- Yeah ? She said in a soft soothing tone raising her head.
- You know, we have all the afternoon off so why don't we go out together. You know, just me and you ? I asked awkwardly getting ready for rejection, but she just gave this blank look.
- Like...As a date ? She asked curiously.
- Well.........Ya as a date. I mean you don't have to if you don't want. I said knowing she'll probably think I am crazy.
- Hiccup....Of course I'D LOVE TO !!!!! She squealed jumping excitedly from the chair to on top of me. Giving me a death hug.
- Can't.....breathe... I said trying to calm her down.
- Oh sorry, I was just so excited since I have never been on a date before. She apologized smiling.
- That's alright, so I'll pick you up at 6, ok ?
- Ok. She replied. And with that we finished breakfast. Well not really though considering that we have barely touched our food. Poor waffles !
After breakfast, we did some last moment packing, carried our bags, and went off to school. I mean where else do we go ?

Astrid's POV

When we got to the school's gate, we separated ways into our different classes, but I wanted to get out some books from my locker and put in some, so I went to the lockers across the hallways. When I got there I quickly opened my bag to get out my locker's key, but.....OH SHIT ! I forgot it at home ! Oh no, what do I do now !? So I'll just have to carry everything with me to class then. And with a big sigh I walked off to my first class.

It's now lunchtime, and let me tell you one thing I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE WORST DAY EVER !!!! We got a pop quiz in chemistry that I totally did NOT study for, one of my shoes fell in a mud puddle on snack break, and I had to stay in the library for an extra hour today cause I forgot my English assignment at home !!? Does any one else feel like killing me today ? If so I'll gladly recruit you ! Gosh ! I wish I just stayed at home today, maybe all of this wouldn't have happened in the first place. But the gang keeps saying that it's just bad luck. Ha luck ? There is no such thing as luck ! Well at least that's what I think. I keep saying that everything will be back to normal after my date with Hiccup, I still can't believe that he's really asking me out, I must be prepared for everything ! I don't even know what to wear !
