Chapter 11 (not yet edited)

With the sound of his name, our laughters dissolved in just a second. Megan and I exchanged glances with confusion. I stood up and walked towards my mom. She turned around and I followed her downstairs. I feel nervous so I went straight to the kitchen to drink a glass of water, to calm myself a little.

"What are you doing?" my mom startled me causing me to almost drop the glass im holding. Good thing my other hand caught it fast. "He's in the living room, pacing back and forth. You better hurry. He's giving me anxiety." I poured the water to my glass and finished drinking before I nod and find my way to where Trent is.

I thought my mom was just exaggerating. But Trent is really pacing back and forth near the window. He stopped and checked his watch. I'm waiting for him to turn my way but he started pacing again. I took a deep breath and took a step forward.

"Hey," I tried to catch his attention and I did.

"Hi." He stopped and smiled at me.

He is still smiling now and I feel so awkward. So, what now? I coughed and looked down at my shoes to divert his attention from me.

"Oh yeah," he shook his head and put his hands into his pockets. "I'm here to talk about what happened to the...uhh..." I nodded, knowing what he wants to talk about.

"Can we sit for awhile?" he suddenly asked and walked to the couch across from where I'm standing.

"Oh..yes! Of course, sit." I point to the couch behind him as I sit to the couch in front of me. "Do you want something to drink?" I'm trying to be hospitable as much as I can. After all, he's my visitor.

"No, I'm good. Thanks." He smiled then suddenly his eyes became dark and and his facial expression became serious.

"Uhh..." I'm unable to think of a word to say next. My stomach is churning and I feel a little chilly that gives me goosebumps on my arms.

"So...uhmm.." Trent ran his hand through his hair and seemed to be thinking of the perfect word to say what he's thinking.

"Are you ok?" I suddenly blurted out. I picked on my nails while waiting for him to answer. When he didnt, I looked up at him and saw that he's confused.

"I mean, I can see that you are okay now, but on the day of the party, when I saw you in the hallway, you..uhh.." I cant find the right word to say it. Or I'm just afraid to ask him, I really dont know.

"I'm fine Alexis," He cut me off. "Thats what I want to talk about,"

"Wait," I suddenly remember what I saw on my Facebook's news feed. "Why did you punch Josh?" I breathe in and out to ready myself for whatever his answer is. He ran his fingers through his hair again and sighed heavily.

"So, you already found out." He said coldly. He sat up straight and joined his hands together, he looks like he's a sales agent and ready to close a deal.

"Uhh..yeah.." I said it in a 'duh' tone. "I wouldnt be able to come up with that question if I didnt." I'm a less nervous now, so I kinda decided to just play this with him. His eyes grew wide with shock, I guess. "So, why?" I crossed my legs and leaned back to the couch like I'm in a talk show.

He cleared his throat and didnt move from his position. "Do you trust me?" His eyes are fixed to mine and never changed its direction.

"You did not answer my question." I mumbled, not knowing where he is going with this.

"Do you trust me, Alexis?" He questioned again and he's not moving an inch.

"Why is that important right now?" I snapped. I uncrossed my legs and sat up straight.
