Chapter 13 (Not yet edited)
I’m at the cafeteria, eating alone. I didn’t see Trent anywhere. I wanted to confront him to finally ask him a bunch of questions. I miss Megan already, it’s been a few days since she left and she hadn’t called me yet
“Ehem,” A voice said behind me. I looked up to see who it is. “Can I sit with you?” Cal smirked then placed his tray on the table and sat beside me. I must’ve a weird look on my face because he furrowed his brows and looked at me intently.
“It’s okay with me if you want to be alone.” He stood up. Ready to get his tray but I grab his oh-so-muscular arm.
“No no, it’s fine,” I pulled him to sit down again. He chuckled deeply as he put down his bag beside him. I look at my tray of food and resume eating my sandwich.
“See, you still want me,” He teased. He poked my side that caused me to bend sideways because it’s either ticklish or painful. He just laughed.
“Just shut your fucking mouth, will you?” I snapped, I sit properly and push my tray forward because I just lost my appetite.
“Dang, girl!” He moves a little away from me as he unwrap his burger. “What’s up with you?” He took a big bite that it’s almost half of the burger already.
“Nothing,” I said it in a calmer tone. “Why are you here? Josh could see us together,” I looked around to see if Josh is in here, but he’s not. Something tells me that he has spies following me around. If there are, they are probably watching me, or us, right now. I look for Ed too, the next Josh, possibly, but he’s not here too. So we are probably safe, for now.
“No, he couldn’t. He’s at the parking lot making out with Amanda,” He took another big bite as he smirked. I made an ‘ew’ face by the time I heard what he just said.
“What’s that face?” He finished his burger with that third big bite and crumpled the wrapper then placed it in his tray. He also finished his juice with just one sip. God, this boy is a monster.
“What face?” I asked innocently.
“That face that you just made—Oh nevermind,” He grabbed my tray and put it over his tray. I just look at him because I’m really not sure if this is the Cal I know.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” He consciously asks as he wipes the side of his mouth with the back of his hand.
“Oh,” I’m suddenly been awake from my daydream. “When are you transferring schools?” I tried to change the topic because that was so embarrassing. I can feel the heat coming up in my ears.
“Probably next year, why?” He stands up then offers his hand for me to take. I take it and stand up as well.
“Nothing, I was just wondering,” I look away from him then start walking out of the cafeteria. I don’t feel comfortable staying inside any longer. You know that feeling when someone’s watching you? Yeah, I felt that when I was still inside the cafeteria. I felt like someone’s watching my every move, our every move.
When I’ve finally reached my locker, I sighed in relief.
“Yo! Alexis!” Cal snapped his fingers in front of me. “Where’d you go?” He questioned. His eyebrows are creased together and he holds me on my shoulder. “What are you thinking, huh?”
And I totally forgot I’m with him.
“Oh nothing,” I grab his hands from my shoulders and put them at his side. He just watches me intently. I opened my locker and placed my books in there. “Wanna go somewhere?” I closed my locker then looks at him. I laugh, out loud.
