Methel POV

Kristine and I are taking our break from our busy night shift talking about our own respective lives. We were talking about Geoffrey and Joshua, the boys who suddenly came to our lives unexpectedly.

"So Geoffrey really loves you then," muttered Kristine with a teasing smile.

I kind of smiled but did not showed it to her.

"And Josh really likes you as well," I replied also teasing her.

She suddenly turned red which made me smile to the fullest. I know she is starting to fall for him, well, I must talk to Josh very soon, his childlike smile is adored by many, mostly girls and I don't want him to hurt my best friend.

"You two," we heard Mr. Potskie calling us, so we turned our heads towards the counter, "here's your salary."

Kristine and I stood up from the table and walks towards the counter to get the small brown envelop that contains our respective salaries for the month.

After our shift for the night, we went to our respective home.

"Bye Methel, be careful on your way home," muttered Kristine as we reach the street that will separate our ways.

"You two," I replied hugging her, "be careful."

From that point on, I made my way to the poorer area of the city alone. I'm quite glad that Geoffrey is busy hanging out with his friends today. Including Phillip, yes, he is included, I think its Josh idea to get the four of them together, to settle scores they say, but tomorrow, he told me he himself will fetch me in my house with his expensive car and we'll be spending the rest of the day cooking, I'm gonna teach him how.

I was on my own world thinking about the recent events, about Geoffrey telling me that Jenny might be involved about the scandal;

"I think Jenny is involved," he told me yesterday in the play room after sipping on his chocolate drink.

"What?" I asked him surprised, "Jenny is my friend, she can't do that to me."

"Methel, trust me," said Geoffrey, "she is involved in this and I'm investigating her."

I was not able to response for a full second until a question came to my mind.

"But why?" I asked in no one in particular.

Geoffrey looks away when he heard my question for a second before he turns back to me.

"I'm sorry Methel," he told me with that rare voice of him of sincerity, an apologetic voice, "but I think its my fault."

"Because of you?" I asked confused once again, "but why? What did you do to her?"

"She is one of the Marshall volunteers," is the quick reply of Geoffrey.

"Volunteers?" I glared at him, I got a feeling I won't like the next words that will come out from his dirty mouth.

"Ah..." muttered Geoffrey irritated with a tight smile, "Methel, I can't blame girls if they are volunteering to have sex with me," he said giving me wary glances.
