Methel POV

"What happened?" asked Phillip when I got back from the short reunion I had with that gray eyed idiot.

Damn! I must still have tear stains on my face! I thought I had it all covered up but I guess mascara and myself just don't mix.

"Nothing," I replied wanting to drop the topic already.

Phillip looks at the direction where Geoffrey's mother and his fiancée are sitting. They are currently absorbed by the band playing a jazz music.

"Was it Geoffrey?" he asked, serious and sharp.

"No," I lied, "come on, let's just enjoy the night."

"No, I need to settle things with him," muttered Phillip as he stood up excusing himself from the other people on our table, including his uncle, the late President of our country.

"Phillip!" I cried out softly, begging him but he's already out of the Great Hall.

'I'm so stupid!' I told myself as I followed him, not after making sure that Geoffrey's mom and Paige didn't saw me walked out of the Great Hall.

I followed Phillip towards the direction of the comfort room where I relieved myself a while ago. I tried to catch up to him but his long strides outmatched mine. Imagining what will happen when the two of them faced each other, my God! It will not actually be the best reunion of the two best friends... with Geoffrey who I'm sure is still pissed off and angry at me right now, and Phillip who I begged to God that still has a little sense left on him, it's like two trucks colliding together.

Where almost there when suddenly I saw Geoffrey walked out of the comfort room wiping something on his face; is he crying or something? Phillip stopped walking ten feet away from Geoffrey when the latter walked out of the comfort room.

"Hey Geoffrey," he called for his attention.

Geoffrey looked up, and from the limited light given by the brazier like torched deck lights of the ship, I can see that he's been crying... my God! Geoffrey was crying!? I think Phillip was also surprised to see him on that state because he was momentarily stunned by the vulnerable appearance of his best friend.

"What?" asked Geoffrey straightening up, on his full height, leaving his vulnerable state and back to his intimidating one once again; the tough guy, the top of his peers, the guy I saw when I first landed at the Marshall not so long ago.

"What did you do this time?" asked Phillip.

I need to stop this, I told myself when I saw Geoffrey's reaction to Phillip's question and when he saw me behind him.

"Phillip, please stop this," I begged as I walk towards him, pulling his arms, "please, you're not like this."

Phillip looked down at me and from the looks of his face; he is considering things when suddenly we heard Geoffrey chuckling. We glanced at him to see why but the only thing I saw from that over familiar face of his was the stupid smirk... that I know is not a good sign.

"It's funny," muttered Geoffrey in a mocking voice.

"What is funny?" asked Phillip and it was also the question in my mind.

Instead of looking straight at Phillip, Geoffrey looks at me, his face alarmingly dangerous.

"It's funny that my girlfriend, or I should say ex-girlfriend now?" muttered Geoffrey shaking his head in disbelief, "is dating my trusty best friend," he said chuckling at the last three words.
