Phillip POV

"Why are you here?" asked Methel, surprised and confused as she looks at me.

Here she is, looking like a lamb in a lion's den. She's glowing as always but I think something is bothering her, though I don't know what it is.

"It's a public park Methel, everyone with a free time can go here," I replied giving her a small smile then she shook her head.

"I mean, when did you get here?" then she hugged me, "I missed you Phillip."

I smiled, even though she was been with Geoffrey all the time, I am happy that she is still the same, the same girl that I met a few months ago in the garden at Marshall.

I hugged her back, "We got here only this morning Meth," I replied, "and I missed you too you know."

She disentangled herself from me and looked at me with a smile on her eyes.

"Do you mind if I take you out to eat?" I asked her.

"Of course," she replied nodding.

"Let's go then," I muttered leading the way towards the nearby restaurant.

We both ordered a banana split, though the flavors are different, Methel's are Vanilla with strawberry while mine are chocolate with almonds.

"This looks delicious," she said wide eyed to the bowl of Banana Split in front of her, "I just hope it will be as delicious as it looks."

"Then let's try it," I muttered shoving the teaspoon on the desert and putting it in my mouth

"Its so delicious!" yelled Methel like a kid and the foreigners around us looked at her with curiosity.

I grinned, she is right, it's really delicious and I'm planning of putting up a small business of my own with this kind of product already.

"Yeah, it's really delicious." I agreed with her.

Halfway through our desert, I unconsciously gazed at Methel, searching for changes on her face. She is still beautiful, the natural beauty of a young woman, that doesn't need any mascara but then, I can see through her face that something is really bothering her.

Should I ask her but I'm having second doubts if I should invade her privacy.

"What is it?" she asked me instead.

That was the cue; I need to find out what's happening. "Do you have a problem with Geoffrey, Methel?"

I asked calmly, looking for any sign of ignorance on her face.

"Problem?" she asked with a small smile, "well I think her mother doesn't like me, and that he is already engaged to a girl that from what I learned from Geoffrey, might be even richer than them," she smiled at me, a smile that's hiding something, "and Geoffrey's consistent bragging and control freak status, that's all the problem I have in the world, no big deal though."

I chuckled, that's a lot to take in, and Methel don't deserved that... at least the first two problems that she told me, because the latter, she can pretty handle my best friend well. In fact, Geoffrey is slowly changing too, though it's not visible to the people who don't grew up with him, but for me, T.J., Josh, Stefan, Dianne and even Mike, their butler, saw it too, the positive changes from the spoiled brat.

"It will pass Methel," I told her, "but don't worry, I will be with you no matter what," I smiled at her, "as a friend."

For now.
