Methel POV
"So will you be ok Methel dear?" asked my mom who is quite concerned seeing my reluctant demeanor.
Our old car is currently parked in front of this huge exclusive school that I never imagined to be the place where I will spend the last two years of my life as a high school student. I mean I came from a public school with the people I'm comfortable with, with my best friend Kristine and you're wondering why I'm not comfortable here right? Cause this place is not just for me! This place is full of students who I'm sure can't even iron their own clothes or even prepare their breakfast alone without the help of their maids!
"Mom, can I just go back to my old school?" I begged looking at her, hoping for a miracle that she will say yes but that miracle never came because she quickly dismissed me as if I'm a small child.
"Of course not Meth, don't you like it to be here, to be in this school?" replied my mom looking at the huge building in front of us with the perfect manicured green lawn surrounding it, "everyone in our compound is so happy that a commoner like yourself will be studying here, don't you want that?"
I stared at my mom, to her excited and jovial face, sure enough, I will be the first one in our area to have the opportunity to study in this prestigious school, the school of socialites and everyone related to the word "FAMOUS" and that's what I'm scared of, my disparity from them, our heaven and earth social status!
"And what do you think your father will feel about this, huh Methel? What do you think?" asked my mom concerned as she tucks in a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
My father was the reason why I'm here, he's a taxi driver and a few days ago, a passenger of him left a bag on his vehicle containing important papers for the company that the passenger is currently working. And my father, being a good man that he is, returned it to his passenger once he noticed the black bag at the back seat of the car and as a reward, the man who accidentally works in a company linked to this school, gave my father a full scholarship for the remaining high school years of my life here, in this school named, Marshall School of South East.
I was thinking about my father so I didn't respond to my mother and seeing her opening arms for me, we just embraced each other inside the car, making things clear that I really need to study in this school.
For God's sake! It's only a school with bunch of spoiled brats! I guess I can cope with that.
"Just be yourself Meth and I'm sure all of them will like you," said my mom patting me on the back of my shoulder.
"I'm going now mom," I told her after a few minutes.
"Ok, be home early dear," said my mom cheerfully waving her hands to me as I leave our old car.
I waited for her to leave the school grounds before finally making my way at the huge entrance of the school designed in a European style and for a moment, I admired the intricate details of its structure, of how different it was from the buildings of the public school that I came from.
This school is really amazing, but wait, I wonder why a bunch of students mostly girls are assembled just outside the entrance of the school.
I made my way towards the crowd that I'm sure is waiting for something or someone, as I approach the huge wooden shiny door leading inside the hallways of the school and all of a sudden, I heard someone yelled.
"Here they come!" it came from shrieking voice of a girl, earning murmurs and cheers from the crowd making my head turn to what they are looking at.
As I squint my eyes at the four approaching cars, I'm glad that I paid attention to my father when he's talking about the expensive cars that he's about to buy for me and my mother in the distant future which is more likely impossible to happen.
