A Vampire's Desire, A Wolf's passion (EXO fanfic)

Run

Avery looked at the guys nervously as their eyes changed color,
"Uhm, guys? Are you okay?"
She turned to Xiumin,
"Are they alright?"
He shook his head,
"I'm not sure. But I don't think you should stay here... They might change. I might've pushed it a little.." He trailed off, grabbing her hand and running from the table. She heard the guys growl and footsteps following close behind them,
"Keep running, Avery!" Xiumin yelled,
"Why? It's you they want!"
He laughed at that, "True, but they might tear you apart trying to mark their territory. They're just about complete wolves right now!"
Avery held his hand tighter as she tried to run faster. She could barely keep up with him as he picked up his speed. She cried out as pain bloomed in her leg,
"Xiumin! My leg! I can't run.."
She feared he'd leave her, but he pulls her close to him while running and scoops her up, bridal style, and runs deeper into The Forest. He jumps up into a large tree and puts a finger over her lips. Avery holds onto him tighter as he secured his arms around her waist. He looked down and saw the others had caught up to them, but lost the scent and returned home.
Once he was sure they were gone, he breathed a sigh of relief and rested his forehead against hers,
"I'm sorry about that. Your scent is... Enticing. I guess when I made them jealous I pushed them too far."
He looked down,
"I didn't mean to endanger you.."
She smiled,
"Xiumin you're fine. Don't worry about it, okay?"
He gave a small smile,
"Alright. But I don't think we should go back just yet. Maybe wait about an hour. Or until they start looking for us. Whichever comes first."
He flashed a charming smile and she giggled, then yawned,
"I'm not used to running that much. I'm gonna rest for a little bit.."
She rested her head on his chest as he held her closer. She smiled softly as he pets her, and falls asleep in his arms.
